I'd say Whitney would be a good candidate, as he won't be around long; he can be used as a temporary captain until a new leader emerges/when Whitney retires.

I like this. Give it to Whitney. Then see who emerges as the team leader (between Benn and Dillon IMO).

I wouldn't have a problem with fiddler or nystrom. don't think it would be, but I respect the hell out of those guys.

4th liners aren't exactly captain material. (Points to whoever gets the small reference towards a chick flick)

As I've expounded on before, I think Loui is the best choice to be our next captain.

generally, agreed
Fiddler I think has more game than 4th liner

Benn, Daley, or Whitney are the best choices. Although I wouldn't be surprised if this team gave it to Robidas...

if they don't move robidas for some value, I can see this for sure, he is growing on me more and more over the years

Whitney as a short term option, Daley, or just roll with three A's the rest of the year until they feel Benn or Dillon is ready.

I wouldn't mind new uniforms, a new captain, and a new head coach all revealed at a press conference before next year.

I don't see why people keep saying Dillon. Just because he hits and is in the middle of scrums doesn't mean he's a leader. He wasn't exactly one for Texas iirc. Sure he brings grit but he tends to do silly stuff at times.

I say right now Whitney. They did bring him in to give some leadership and he seems willing to take that role if he hasn't already.

If not that, then go the three A's route with Benn, Eriksson, and Robidas and then see who takes over for the rest of the season and the off season.

Run with multiple A's. Let Benn or whoever prove they earn it. An open competition will only bring the best out of whoever is a candidate.

Nothing wrong with three A's. More people to talk to the ref.

Whitney has talked to them during the game just as much as Morrow has this year anyways.

Part of my reasoning on why he'd get the A or even the C

In an interview, the first person Gully mentioned Whitney as a leader who needs to help fill the Morrow void. He even said Whitney has already stepped up.

He than ran off a few other names of guys who will step up as leaders: Robidas, Loui, Benn, and Fiddler.

Seems like Gully sees Whitney as the next in line.

GMJN just said they weren't going to name a captain the rest of the year, no shock.

Whitney doesn't need the C to lead, as he's proven. They'll play out the season and give it to Benn for next season.
