Sooo....how many games is Perry gonna get for that nonsense he pulled on Zucker tonight?

1. Way late. (Late, per Shanny, is more than 0.5 second after the player releases the puck.)
2. Hit to the head.

Apparently Perry isn't considered a repeat offender because his last suspension (also for an elbow to the head) was in 2009.

He needs to get at least 3. Zucker was looking back, had no clue Perry was coming after him. He had dropped the puck off and was looking to go behind the net I saw it live and it was dirty, the ref stopped play right away, he had a great view of it and he knew it was dirty too.

What I found interesting is that you aren't considered a "repeat offender" if the offense occurred more than 18 months prior. 18 months, that's it? My speeding ticket for going 15km/h over is still on my record and that was over 3 years ago. The last thing the league needs is another reason to shorten up these suspensions. Should be atleast 2-3 years before an offense is taken off a given record.

The "repeat offender" status mostly just refers to how much money a player will lose if suspended. Any and all history is taken into account when determining if or how much a player will be suspended. Perry's suspension was 4 years ago, but in the suspension video they released, they said his history played a factor in their decision.

The Stars just gotten taken behind the woodshed and beaten to a pulp. 8-1. We aren't the only fanbase suffering through a miserable season.

It's weird. Normally I would watch Preds games to see consistent hardworking hockey whenever the Jackets drove me crazy.

This season it's almost the other way around.

"Sidney Crosby can play with anyone."

I guess that's why Jones gets paid the big bucks for his analysis.

Because of the games CBJ/NSH should be in the 7/8 spot in the draft

EDIT: my bad, this is if PHI wins and DAL continues to throttle CAL

So it appears the ducks have re-signed perry to the same deal as getzlaf signed. Good for them. Bad for anyone hoping to sign him this offseason. So they sign their big two, we let one of ours get away. Awesome.

Anaheim is on a self-imposed budget. I hope these two contracts kill their ability to have any depth, and they end up back where they were for the past couple of seasons.

It must be nice to have your own players actually want to stay.

And recognize what it means to play with a teammate:
Quote:
"A big [factor] was Getzy signing here as well. Knowing I'm going to play with him for eight more years is pretty special."

....

"The night before he signed his contract, he called me and asked what I was going to do," Perry said. "At that time I was still a little undecided. He told me he was going to take [the deal], and I came to the conclusion that I would stay here too, because he wanted me.

"When somebody like that, one of your friends off the ice and a linemate on the ice -- it definitely hit home and it was a big factor."

I wanted to throw the bank at Perry (give him the $$ we were going to offer Suter), but good for Anaheim keeping their players.

I hope Suter reads that and cries.

17.2 per year for 8 years is a lot for a 2 players. We have 14.8 tied up between Rinne and Weber but Rinne is a top 5 goalie and Weber is a top 3 defenseman. Are either of the Duck players a top 5 at their position?

Does that make them two of the highest paid forwards in the game now?

this isone of thos deals that looks gaudy now but will look like a bagain if they are still playing at top form in 3 or 4 years

plus its kinda hard to argue with the results they are getting now that they have a good goalie

Fact:

The Ryan Suter departure still irks me.

I'm a level-headed fan. I take FA signings as they come. But for some reason....this one still irritates the heck out of me.

By far, one of the most underrated stars in this league. I saw Suter drafted at the GEC (now Bridgestone). I got his autograph during the lockout when Milwuakee played in Nashville. I watched him dominate the Olympics. I watched the Weber - Suter tandem take over games and thought - the Predators may not have a superstar forward but they have two HOF caliber defensemen playing together....

Then he left. Now he is getting all of the credit he never received here in Nashville.

It stings.

Good luck to you Ryan.

I'm still pissed.

I know I'm late on this, but just saw it. I am absolutely stunned Rick Nash did not get any games off for that hit on the Florida player. Holy crap.

With Douglas Murray going for 2 2nd rounders, we might be able to pull a first for Hannan!
