The bigger concern to me with Richards is it his inability to score on the SO but the fact he's consistently turns the puck over more than any one I've ever seen.

One problem. Our depth (all four lines last year) was a massive reason for our success last year. The entire team was going.

Trading for Nash turns this team back into a two line top six heavy team.

We shouldve just traded for another 20-25 goal scorer or used the same roster and had Kreider for the year.

Now we're a step back because of no depth and scrambling to get it back.

Management missed the boat on this completely.

The thing is with new coaches is that sometimes it doesn't matter who it is. Maybe a team just grows tired of their coach and stops trying. Maybe it's the same thing over and over and they just quit listening or taking direction. A new coach brings in something fresh and with a fresh start the ears start to perk up again and all of a sudden there might be hope that the team can win again. I'm not saying that's the case here, but maybe just any new coach with some fresh ideas can get these guys to start listening and trying a little harder. That's all this team needs right now, because the elements are there to win, the drive is missing.

I think the Rangers should send Richards down for a conditioning stint. He is just way too gassed...

Hes not too polite when hes killing himself for a lose puck. Gentlemen Jean Beliveau was quiet as a church mouse and is widely considered the greatest leader ever.

Gaborik sucks in shootouts. Between him and Richards, it's a toss up.

Yes, because we all know a rookie defenseman is going to come in and be an answer right away and consistently...

In the Nash trade we gave up TWO assets. last I looked, we still have cap room.. Prust could be here still. same with Mitchell, Feds etc. The Nash trade isn't the reason we have no depth. The reason we have no depth is because the Rangers thought they could move on without them.

Stepan hasn't really been given many chances as of late.

Besides...who else was there to really pick from? Stepan has been our best forward over the past 5-8 games, he should have gotten a chance either way.

Richards? What has he done to earn a chance here? What has he done to earn a chance to do anything other than ride the pine?

Yeah Gabby has just been a world beater in shootouts. And Kreider and Hags with their combined zero shootout goals were the obvious choices too. If we went with any of them it was a lock we win. :h elp:

I absolutely love Duby and Arty but no way in Hell would I take them back and lose Nash. This teams problem is not losing Dubinsky and Anisimov.
