Rather than attacking the lines (I think that's more appropriate to do a few weeks from now)
lets count the roster spots down...
NYR
1 Lundqvist, G
2 Weekes, G (or a backup if he were to go to..say STL)
3 Rozsival, D
4 A. Ward, D
5 Kaspar, D
6 Malik, D
7 Rachunek, D
8 Ozolinsh, D (won't be active)
9 Tyutin, D
10 Cullen, C
11 Shanny, W
12 J. Ward, W
13 Hall, W
14 Betts, C
15 Prucha, W
16 Orr, F
17 Immonen, C
18 Ortmeyer, W
19 Hollweg, W
20 Jagr, W
21 Hossa, W
22 Straka, W
23 Nylander, C
Wild Card: Martin Richter, D
Expect Cliche and Pyatt to head back to juniors, since they both still have eligibilty. (Actually, I'm not sure if they can go to hartford, since they are from the same draft as Staal and Sauer, who are both headed back to juniors for the same reason.)
Likewise I would expect Pyatt and Cliche to go back to juniors although you never know. Bahensky signed an AHL contract. Chris Holt. Whether or not Hannu Pikkarainen on D.(?) Not sure about Petruzalek either. And lastly we have Guenin, Potter and Crabb and my guess is if they haven't signed yet they're not going to be.
I honestly have no idea how you could leave out DALE PURINTON!!!!!...
ANd I can see Pock and GIRARDI fighting it out with Martin Richter for the 7th D spot in NY..Or all three might be in Hartford if we pick up another D..
Sykora is no longer an option. His agent is not happy with the way he is used here and they are talkin to other teams. No room for him.
Hey man, you can always hold out hope. He DOES want to return, we'll see, within the next week I feel he'll either sign with Edmonton, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, or....THE RANGERS!

And we don't want him.

I'm not sure about Rangers, though. I wouldn't believe a single word any agent says. Slats might have been low balling him. You never know. Sykora, aside, I've got a feeling Rangers are not yet done. Second line is still at limbo. Hall is a project and Immonen is try and see case. Hossa is only spare part at this time. Do we want to see our 2nd line as WIP(work in progress)? I'd rather have 4th line being not settled.

How is the 2nd line in limbo? Prucha isn't a viable candidate anymore!?

He is LW. Who is on the RW? Shanahan? Centre? Renney says Cullen. He was 3rd line C. Plus, I don't see why Prucha is not our 1st line LW. This way Straka centers the 2nd with Immonen waiting for bad thing that could happen to Straka (he is due, Gd forbid). In this case Hall is 2nd line RW with Hossa as possible replacement. If you have Sykora as 2nd line RW there is much less questions to ask. I doubt Sykora will be worse than last year. Him and Shanhan could get Jarkko going. Or Straka.

I suspect that the organization will bring in a couple of AHL vets in order to get some experience into the Wolfpack lineup. Almost all of those players (especially the forwards) will either be first or second year professionals and they will need some guidence from older players.

It kind of bums me not to see Kenny G there as a player anymore. But I'm sure he's an awesome coach in HFD and is still a huge help to the kids.
