Homer should cough: OEL for Couts, 1st, 2nd, Read, Mez just to get a reaction. Not serious.

I guarantee he won't unless it's made clear to him that he's no longer wanted in the room. I'm really starting to resent old Danny boy.

gotta think Grossman could be part of a deal with Phoenix, kind of a late scratch don't you think?

I'd think they were just hoping that Grossmann would be able to go like he normally does when he fights through injuries, but nope.

If Grossmann is part of the deal, that would really suck, but to think about it now, he's one of the better shutdown D-men in the whole NHL. His value has skyrocketed since being with the Flyers.

I see no reason to read trade rumors into Grossmann and Briere's absence tonight.

If they were healthy scratches, we would actually have something to speculate.

I think the potential value of Briere went up with this Morrow deal.

Has Morrow been worse than Briere this year?

The thing about the Morrow-Morrow trade is that the Stars don't get that much for B. Morrow if the Pens don't have a glut of promising dmen waiting in the wings.

It sucks that the Pens probably have the deepest dman pool in the league because this is the exact type of return the Flyers should hope to get for Danny B, though I don't think they could get that type of return from any other team in the league.

There's still also the nagging fact that Briere stands to make more out of not waiving his NMC and being bought out than waiving it and getting traded, unless he feels he can win a cup this year by being traded. All the cards are in his hands.

But with Holmgren's trades, much like supper, there is always room for 2nds.

I really would not be surprised at all if the rumored deal with Phoenix is for either Rundblad or Gormley. I just hope we hang on to our 1st. I really don't care what else we give up as long as its within reason.

What kind of offensive upside does Gormley have?

EDIT: I mean, does he project to a PPQB at the NHL level, or just a decent two-way game?

Might not be as much as Rundblad, but a better overall player (better defense than Rundblad).

His offense projecte to be lesser than rundblads at this points but its still pretty good I think. I don't see why he couldn't be a ppqb. I think Gormley is the better overall player of the 2 though. Wouldn't probably take more to get.

Oh gawd. D Leed thinks the Flyers brass thinks that they are just a few pieces away for competing this season. If they truly think this, I know they have no idea what the hell they are doing.

Say bye bye to the 1st round pick

This is the reason that I have no problem actively rooting for poor results for the next week.

I just truly don't understand. Really don't. How can the management think that a team that has been .500 once in 31 games is able to with the next 10-11 games out of 17?

I just don't see how they can justify it.

Briere's trade value means nothing if he won't waive his clause
