You need to get into the playoffs first.

0 goals in 30 games isn't going to get you there.

I'd do this from the Leafs, I really like Clowe.

0% shooting percentage. If he was shooting at his average, he would have 6 goals. We're the lowest scoring team in the league, so that certainly isn't helping (and no, it's not Clowe's fault).

If Toronto fans are only concerned about this seasons stats, then why offer a player with better stats this season?

Said this in another thread, but Clowe brings much more than what is shown on a scoresheet. And we all know he's better than what his stats show.

I think it's very important to note he's been playing the entire season with an injury.

People need to stop watching boxscores and start watching games.

Clowe is exactly the type of player the Leafs could use. I could see Mac and maybe a Finn going if SJ wanted some youth.

Clowe is a carlyle player and will be more useful to the leafs. Leafs have a top nine essentially and need to shave the excess skill and turn it into grit. Top 6, Bottom 6.

Mac is a hustler and can fit anywhere from top 6 to a 3rd line roll.

Really good question. For a player who has allegedly been playing injured all season at that....who many San Jose posters seem to want rid of as soon as possible...who has yet to score his first goal this year...who takes dumb penalties....who is slow as molasses in January. Pass. Massive pass.

Toronto adds a grittier veteran winger, and experienced playoff performer.

San Jose adds a more mobile winger, capable of producing more offense at this stage of their careers.

Thoughts?
Absolutely pointless as both are UFA's at the end of this season. No point in the Leafs downgrading for someone they really don't need.

If MacArthur does get moved (and there's no guarantee he will, given the chemistry he has with Kadri), it'll most likely be for a high pick or young prospect who's almost ready to make the jump to the NHL.. and not for a guy loke Clowe.

That ship has long since sailed.

Clowe would be an absolute game-changer in the playoffs. He always has been. For a team lacking in toughness/grit in our top-9, he's the perfect fit. Clowe is a heart-and-soul player that any team should be happy to have. And to have the opportunity to get him at a low-point in his value is something you can't pass up.

Love this. Partly because I love Clowe. Would help us in the playoffs alot. Big gritty forward who will probably play with Kuli... Wow I would be so happy. Plus his bad season would mean a smaller contract.

Mac's been good for us this year but I'd do it. We need a physical grinder that can win board battles. I believe this is potentially a deal here that works for both teams.

Yes, it works for both teams, except for the Sharks.
