If Toronto fans are only concerned about this seasons stats, then why offer a player with better stats this season?
Really good question. For a player who has allegedly been playing injured all season at that....who many San Jose posters seem to want rid of as soon as possible...who has yet to score his first goal this year...who takes dumb penalties....who is slow as molasses in January. Pass. Massive pass.
Toronto adds a grittier veteran winger, and experienced playoff performer.
San Jose adds a more mobile winger, capable of producing more offense at this stage of their careers.
Absolutely pointless as both are UFA's at the end of this season. No point in the Leafs downgrading for someone they really don't need.
If MacArthur does get moved (and there's no guarantee he will, given the chemistry he has with Kadri), it'll most likely be for a high pick or young prospect who's almost ready to make the jump to the NHL.. and not for a guy loke Clowe.
That ship has long since sailed.

Clowe would be an absolute game-changer in the playoffs. He always has been. For a team lacking in toughness/grit in our top-9, he's the perfect fit. Clowe is a heart-and-soul player that any team should be happy to have. And to have the opportunity to get him at a low-point in his value is something you can't pass up.
Love this. Partly because I love Clowe. Would help us in the playoffs alot. Big gritty forward who will probably play with Kuli... Wow I would be so happy. Plus his bad season would mean a smaller contract.
