Micheal Handzus?

Would you be interested in having him play for the Habs? I was pretty surprised when I saw him traded by the Flyers, I thought he was untouchable there. The past few years when the Habs played the Flyers, every times we had trouble on the ice, it was always because of Handzus, his size and his physical play. It was unbelievable how every shift his line was on the ice we would stumble like fools. This kind of big physical guy with some skills that happens to be a centerman are rare. I think he would have been a perfect fit here.

What do you guys think?

Chicago just trade for him...they will not move him back. Maybe at the deadline if they see that he will not resign with them, but anyways, I don't see him with us anytime soon...

Well he's a UFA at the end of the year.

Would not be a bad pickup as a number 2 centreman.

The guy is slow as hell ... I am talking Jason Allison slow.

Not surprised he lost a lot of his effectiveness last year in the faster NHL.

Pass.

I've watched more then a handful of Philly's games... he is not Jason Allison slow. He has similar speed to Radek Bonk.

Or could his play have been the effect of a bad shoulder injury that he played through?

As slow as he is, he was the best two-way forward on the Flyers last season. Led all Flyers forwards in SH ice time and played in every key defensive situation. Never makes mistakes on the ice. Also had 44 points which is not to bad for a defensive player. Not a bad season for a guy not as effective in the "new NHL".

And yet Chicago traded Calder for his 1 year contract leading into unrestricted free agency. He must have a better up side than Allison

And if he's that slow, if Montreal ever picked him up as a UFA, he could play with Samsonov, that would even things out

Allison had 60 points last year in 66 games. What upside that Handzus have?
