The same people ripping Chia for not making moves would rip Chia for getting bent over in a Murray for two seconds type of deal. Can't win with some folks, that's okay. Murray can't skate anymore, it's debatable if he would be an upgrade over Aaron Johnson and I used to really like Murray.

My only concern with this deal is that it drives the price for anything that Chia wants to do through the roof. Maybe why Shero is doing it???

Oh, and great nickname, Crankshaft.

I'd definitely rather have Bartkowski.

Eeeesh. If Shero's gonna set the market like this, then Chia has zero business being in the market for anything.

I'll rip Chia if he keeps making the team worse than the 2011 SC winning team instead of improving and trying to win another one.

People won't rip him if he delivers, it's that simple .

I think he was brought in specifically to deal with the Lucic/Horton factor. He's big, strong and has cement in his boots.

No they could still trade Maata or Pouliot + which is better than anything the Bruins could come up with

Chiarelli's horrible drafting from 2007-2009 is ****ing the Bruins

I get where some of you are coming from in regards to mocking Pittsburgh, but this is a very strong that's beaten the bruins the last what, 3 or 4 times we've played them?

They can be as porous as they want but when they face the bruins the record speaks for itself

Crosby's not 37, but his brain is. I think Shero smells blood in the East with none of the other contending teams looking all that strong and he figures with Crosby and Malkin both relatively healthy this year, now might be their best chance to win another cup.

Subban+ is literally the same exact thing as Maata+

They were picked back to back I believe.

I don't see them moving Pouliot

It seems I might be in a minority here, but I think Shero has done a very admirable job. He saw what he wanted and got the deal done well before the deadline. What assets did he give up? A good prospect, but with a plethora of other similar ones, it was doable. He recognized that and made the calculated risk. Then he paid a premium to get a defenseman, struggling this season thought he may be, is a good reliable player to have in the mix. Overpayment? Sure. But does it matter if they win the Cup? Of course not. Does it matter if they exit in the first round? Maybe, but that's the risk you take as a GM. A GM willing to take those risks is a better GM than one who sits on picks and prospects while waiting for the right time that may never come. Bruins are contenders NOW. Two seconds, a prospect like Morrow (or Spooner, Koko, Subban), hell even throw in a 1st round pick... those are all assets that come into play years from now. There's a window of opportunity here to compete. In my opinion, Chiarelli needs to recognize that and take the risk. If he does and we don't win, to me, we're still only slightly worse off than if we stand pat and hold onto those future potential superstars...

I wouldn't wait until the deadline either. Pay the premium if you have to. Let the boys know and give them as much time possible to get everything together for the run.

The prices are once again ridiculous and if Chia didn't want to pay them, I wouldn't have a huge problem with it.

But it begs the question, why the hell is he so passive in the off-season? Last year we had to settle for Rolston/Mottau/Zanon because the prices for legit contributors were enormous after Chia did nothing in the off-season, seemingly waiting till the deadline to make his upgrades. Then he makes the same mistake again this year.

I don't have a problem with Chia being passive in the trade market, but he should've learned his lesson last year that you don't wait until the trade deadline to fill your holes from before the season (Chris Bourque).

Would getting Murray for 2 2nds be called delivering in your book? Especially since they could've picked up Komisarek for nothing.

I don't see anyone mocking the team. They're clearly solid and the team to beat in the East.

The moves are reactionary and drastic. If that's what Shero's plan is, fine. I'm just glad he's not the GM of the team I cheer for.
