Smith available, great backup Goalie, 80ovr 1.5 mil. Time for Bunz to start earning his keep! Will take a 2nd round draft pick or defensive D prospect in return.

I was at 37 after the trade deadline. I also thought the game wouldn't allow the trade to go through if St.Louis has 50 contracts? Plus it was a 5 for 4 player trade.

Edit: Why is Coyle , and Zucker UFA's now? It said they was a RFA on my re-signing page.

Did you tender them qualifying offers? I think any RFA that does not get a qualifying offer (or re-signed) becomes a UFA. Not 100% sure though.

Doesn't giving them a qualifying offer just let them pick the salary they want? I didn't sign them or give them a qualifying offer because I thought my deal with St.Louis was still a go. When I found out it wasn't, I couldn't get on in time to sign them before the sim.

im pretty sure if you select qualifying offer, it allows other people to bid on them, and based on their bids, you will receive compensation in regards to picks in the upcoming draft, if you want to sign them for exactly what they want, you need to select negotiate new contract, and just give them exactly what they want. I think you may have shot yourself in the foot with those players homie.

So if you don't select qualifying offer, the player will become a UFA?

Ya, this happened with the Blackhawks in real life a few years ago. With Versteeg and Barker, so they sent huge deals last minute that they wouldn't refuse or else they would have been UFA's. Dale Tallon got fired for this. Hopefully your owner is a little nicer than the Blackhawk's .

I didn't even know that I guess all I can do is try to resign them.

ya homie you need to decide what you want to do with them before free agency starts, if you are willing to accept offers from other GMs for compensation you can select tender qualifying offer. However The Sharks got majorly screwed a couple seasons back with Couture.

If the guy is an UFA and Resign has passed and he has not accepted the offer, or you simply didnt make him an offer he will go as a Free Agent July 1st.

You can also opt to not resign your RFA's, im really not to sure what happens here because I have never let it come to that. But as far as I know, they cant be used, and other GMs can tender offers on them.

Hope this helps.

Every time I've given a RFA a qualifying offer, they usually sign with me the next day. So I thought I'd leave him until Free Agency started, so I could trade him to St.Louis so he could sign him. I didn't know he'd become a UFA if I didn't give qualifying offer.

Now I know guys, thanks!

Do you guys remember in 07 where you could sign a player any time of the year? I wish that back.

I really need make a trade here. Tanguay (81), Lantendresse (80), K. Palmieri (77), Kropp (79) (defensmen) are available. My roster is messed up badly.

So is there anyway to cancel your offer - I made an off to Emerson Etim that is more than he was asking. If I get him I will trade him to CGY for nothing but he will have to pay what I offered him if thats the case which may be high lol.

no way to cancel it, normally people just swap 7th round picks and the player, so if you land him, that will be what needs to happen

I don't know how much of an upgrade he is but Lecavalier is available if people are wanting a centre, 1 year left on his contract, the cap hit is 7 milli (sucks) but he can get the job done.
