Not a bad proposal. I quite like Gallagher and Beaulieu, but I'd rather keep Eriksson.

So how about Loui for P.K. Subban straight up?
Seems Fair value, but Pk Subban is a fan favorite here, he might be a trophy Norris Candidate with the way he's playing recently.

Pk has 1 more point than Eriksson this season with 6 less games under his belt. He also leads all D in the league with goals. Infact he's tied with Eriksson at the moment!

Not only that, he's largely improved in his own zone.

no from Montreal and no to eriksson for subban. Never

His stats have been in decline since 08-9..still
a 25 goal scorer but prefer the grit of a gallagher -
and i want to keep Beaulieu.
+ two high picks is alot

There is no need to trade Eriksson UNLESS there is a core defenseman coming back.

Something like Eriksson and Larsen for Subban and a young forward might be interesting for Dallas, even though trading Subban makes no sense for the Habs.

Of course Eriksson most likely wouldn't be enough to pry Subban out of MTL, but that's how high we value him. If he was to be traded, it would probably be for a top pairing defenseman.

Whoever keeps writing the stories about who Dallas might move doesn't have a clue about the team. Why the hell would we trade one of the best 2 way forwards whose young and has an awesome contract in order to rebuild?

I honestly don't think the value is that bad. I just don't think I'd actually do it if I was GMJN.

goal totals down for 5 straight years - yes assists are up. Solid player, just wouldn't give up Subban for him or that other package - as I think Gallagher will very quickly reach his goal totals and is 6 years younger + beaulieu (another 1st rounder) + two high picks makes it a non-starter for me - as I'm sure Dallas fans feel same way

Eriksson isn't exactly playing with top-of-the-line players. besides Benn and aged veterans like Jagr and Whitney, Dallas is broke when it comes to offensive prowess.

Eriksson would put up more points on other teams.

would love to get him in MTL, but it would cost us quite the package. he's a pretty complete player. Dallas would either want a top-notch D coming back or Pac +.

Change the 2 2nd rounders to 2 1st rounders and I'd do it, honestly.

It doesn't make sense, MTL doesn't have two 1st rounder.

As much as I like Eriksson, he isn't worth on any team two first rounder, Nathan Beaulieu and Brendan Gallagher.

The 2013 draft is still looking deep.

As an unbiased fan to this deal , I see no reason for Dallas to do this since they can easily get a better return elsewhere. I'm sure there's 12+ teams that would put together a much better offer.. It's not horrible but Dallas can get much more..

Nothing comes close to PK value wise in Dallas, save Benn.

And I doubt you're interested in moving him, so let's just save ourselves some time and leave him out of trade offers.

Glad to see a Montreal fan come in with some insight on what it would take to get Eriksson.

How do you know what it would take to get Eriksson? You are not GMJN last time I checked. Many fans here were saying Joesph Morrow was UNTOUCHABLE 100% in a deal for Iginla. Then he gets dealt for Morrow. I know this is a board for speculation, but you have no clue as to what the asking price would be, or if he is getting traded at all.
Just my 2 cents.

Eriksson should not be moved as far as I'm concerned. Joe has made some strange moves in his time as GM (like moving Neal) but if he moves Eriksson for anything less than an overpayment he should be fired.

Montreal will not be trading for him unless Dallas is getting robbed.

Hind sight is 20/20! No way to know Neal would put up 40 goals and Niskanen who sucked something fierce here in Dallas would play like he has.

Doesn't take a bloody genius to see a 24 yr old with 3 20+ goal seasons already with the club has a bright future. Joe was an idiot to trade him end of story. 20/20 has nothing to do with it. The proof was staring him in the face.

Trading Neal wasn't puzzling at the time. The return for him was puzzling.

I like Eriksson. But no thanks. Gallagher brings so much to the table, and is still improving. He'll be a 50-60 point guy, IMO.

Cgy's 2nd will be like a 1st, to go along with Beaulieu who is a 1st. And a 2nd on top of that? No thanks.

I would not trade Eriksson to Montreal unless Subban or Galchenyuk were coming back. 70 point Selke caliber defense wingers singed for three years on an excellent contract aren't that plentiful.
