Count me among the Toronto Maple Leaf fans who really want Miikka Kiprusoff. I've been saying it for over a week now, a veteran goaltender like him would be an awesome addition to our goaltending.

Ben Scrivens + Clarke MacArthur + Mike Kostka for Miikka Kiprusoff + Mike Giordano

Leafs might have to add something to even it out though.

This appears to be idle speculation only. From what LeBrun said, he doesn't have a source, nor did he hear it as a rumor that the Leafs are interested. Just that it wouldn't shock him if the Leafs did have interest.

It's not a rumor. And I doubt the Leafs go after him

Yes the team is bad, but with the exception of 3 games this season Kiprusoff hasn't been much better.

I know numbers aren't a complete reflection of a goalie's abilities, but his save percentage this year is brutal. That's at least in part on him.

It makes a lot more sense for Toronto go after Kipper instead of Luongo.

But anyone thinking Reimer/Scrivens is enough to get the job done are fooling themselves.

That would never get it done imo. Scrivens, MacArthur and Kostka probably don't even land you Kipper.

If the Leafs are out of the playoff race by April 3rd (which I don't believe), I suspect Anaheim would be interested in Bozak. He could play 2C on our team and probably would be cheaper than Roy from Dallas. And then don't forget the Anaheim/Toronto relationship.
I think that died with the Burke firing.

You clearly haven't followed Kipper's season, Calgary's situation and the goalie market.

I think Kipper would be better on the Leafs because he won't be playing that many games.

IMO, he's getting overworked.

If the Leafs get him...he might not be so good this year unless he gets a lot of rest but he'll be good next year.

Reimer-Kipper 50/50 starts +/- a few games when a goalie gets hot.

Scrivens + 2nd is probably about fair value.

Maybe 2 years ago...

No way Kiprusoff is worth a 1st now. I think they'd be lucky to get a 2nd.

Don't think so. I believe Nonis has some ties to Anaheim as well. Apart from that Burke still has ties to Toronto.

Scrivens, Ashton and a conditional 3rd/4th (if we win a round).

Kipper has pretty much been a 1 man team for years. As a Canucks fan he has kept Calgary in more games than any other goalie.

Give him a good backup in Reimer and he should be able to put up very good numbers in a 60 game seaso

I doubt it. Nonis and Burke are friends.

And just look at the Steckel trade...

There is no way the Leafs fall out of the race before April 3rd unless we lose all our games and the teams below us win all theirs.

It's just very unlikely.

MacArthur might be traded but Bozak stays.

Sure, but Burke isn't really lording over a lot of power in Anaheim as a scout.
