And hèll get his multi-year contract when it comes to time to give him one. Right now though... therès no point to giving him a multi year contract, when hès RFA. He can be paid properly every year.
IMO if hès truly a UFA a year after next, hèll get his multiyear contract next off season.
Hès a third year player for god sakes!!!
And furthermore... think about this. If he signed a multiyear 3 year contract when he first signed up to the pro contract that originally played for us with... It wouldve been a better deal than Tomas Plekanecs $454,000 contract.
Mikey better be thanking his lucky stars that he has fair employers. Not no ******** free money center... but a fiscally responsible organization that is much bigger than the name, or the number on his back. **** man, we were winning cups in 73...
Giving in to a one or 2 year player to a huge contract that is multi-year... well, thats just flat out dumb, unless said player has shown the best hockey they can possibly play (and even then its still dumb half the time).
Ryder if he has a great year... should be tendered a 3 year, 10 million dollar deal.
