Sign that kid up.
2/2 from the blue line and center ice.
Maybe the Hawks could actually score an EN goal for once.

1. Yes

2. Hockey is more then just skating, otherwise lets call up Scott Hamilton and he can dominate like no other.

Balance is a completely seperate issue from his skating. He has fine agility for a big man and good speed/acceleration. I won't deny he's not very sturdy, but his skating, for a big man, is well above-average.

Shaw's dive on the PP-shorty was just pathetic. Marchand-like. Ugh. Just stop with that ********.

Drew Doughty keeping htat puck away from Hammer was pretty much just incredible. I cannot believe he dragged that puck back away from 4. Just a great play.

He saw the sticks infront of his legs and went for dip in Lake Canuck. I wish he'd stop with that ****. I get "agitating" and drawing penalties is part of his game, but he's better than that.

I've always been taught and preached that balance and skating go hand in hand.

Um, there was no debate on hockey skill. The question is about skating and his speed or lack there of. I have no idea what your point is but ok.

I guess I just look at it as seperate parts of an "engine", so-to-speak. Hayes is top-heavy, but he's got a fairly powerful stride and gets up to speed pretty quickly.

At the end of the day, people keep calling him slow and I can't understand how we're all watching the same player, and so many posters keep commenting on his speed. He's not graceful, but he's not slow.

What?!?! Have you ever played the fricken game? The entire basis of playing hockey is knowing how to effectively skate! You don't have to be the fastest but you need to know how to change direction quickly and react.

His speed and agility aren't anything special, but I'll agree that they aren't keeping him back. It's the fact that you can knock him off the puck like he's Salmeilainen's cousin that will keep him from sticking in the NHL.

Hayes can effectively skate and I don't understand which part of my posts suggest you can play hockey without being an effective skater.

Hayes is 6'6". If you're expecting him to be able to be as elusive or agile as Kane, it's not happening. Doesn't mean he's slow.

I don't expect him to be like Kane but he's slow relative to to everyone else out there. That's a problem and a potential liability.

Rozy's situational awareness is off.
Maybe just rust as he hasn't played in a while.

Compared to Bickell, he's a speed demon. I'm not seeing the problem.

This is the most ****ing frustrating game I've watched all year. Beat to every puck.

We don't look good to start the period. I'd maybe settle for a point right now.
