Oh I like them both; Terry is perfect for the middle TN market. He uses a lot of general commentary (get to the net, dump the puck deep, etc.) that the casual hockey fan can follow and appreciate. He's friendly and they're not homers; Terry is just anti-penalties in general. At least 3-4x a game you'll hear the "Let's see the penalty and....well...okay I guess? [Terry chuckle] We'll take it!"

Some people do Grimson / 102.5 team for a more sophisticated approach.

Gotta give props to Legwand for doing the safe thing and keeping control of the puck there and not trying to up his stats. Very team-oriented move

the problem i have with pete and terry is their broadcasts sound the exact same every game. as cashville said, the same things are repeated every game of the year. and sometimes i think they are getting too old and can't see from the top of arenas.

for all of the grief Legwand gets on message boards for his EN goals, his four EN goals in 2010-11 was equaled by Weber last season. His three empty netters in 08-09 was matched by his three SHG that year.

hasnt he finished top 30 in ENG 3 of the past 5 seasons? he gets the reputation for good reason. weber was one away from the league lead it seems last year.

2 empty net goals (Leggy's total) put a player in a tie within the top 30 last season ... Weber had four. The season before Leggy had four, Weber one.

It's hilarious how if he's in the top 30 EN goal scorers, that gets mentioned (even if it's two goals) yet his inclusion in the top 30 scoring forwards gets overlooked. While his 3 EN goals in 08-09 (top 14) gets harped on, his 3 SHG (top 20 in the league) gets no notice.

Saying a player gets a reputation here for a logical reason is a stretch. See Erat, Klein, Fisher, Legwand and the complete pass Weber often gets.

It's all just selective criticism from the ultra-negative crew- if Legwand and Fisher stink (or anyone else for that matter), there are 1,000 posts detailing every bad play. But when they are playing well (as they have been lately)- crickets........

Just realized that we have had empty net situations in all 3 games on this homestand, and if I am not mistaken, we only had 1 the entire season before that- at Minnesota in game 3 is the only other one I recall

And Anaheim certainly not helping us- back to back home regulation losses to the Wings, and now losing at home to the Sharks in the 3rd period......

But But But anaheim is rolling and no one wants to face them in a 2-7 matchup because they are so much better than everyone else.

We can beat Anaheim. We may get swept, but we could also take them to game 6 or 7 and beat them IMO.

Who does 11th place play in the playoffs? That's the matchup I'm looking at.

Anaheim and Chicago did us no favors last night. San Jose has a tough next five upcoming: ANA, DET, PHX, VAN, MIN. Hopefully they drop 3/5+ in that stretch.

The end of the Preds season is brutal and may be a blessing or a curse. If we muddle our way through, it's a curse because we'll be golfing in May. If we actually pull it off and make the playoffs, that will mean we played some extraordinary hockey against the best teams in the league and may actually peak at the right time to do some damage in the playoffs. We'll see; it's going to be very tough to get in.

When they play well, I see it as them earning their (huge) paychecks. When they play bad for consecutive games (and arent getting scratched), I don't mind chipping in on the criticism, since their salary is the equivalent to 3, 4, even 5 of the young guys like Mueller and Beck who have been working their ***** off to secure a spot on the team.

To each his own, but I'm not really worried about salary when I am discussing a game. If Weber and Rinne have a great game, I'm not going ignore it or not discuss it or refrain from praising them because they have a high salary and are therefore just doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Same thing if its a minimum salary rookie- if they play well I'll say so and if they stink I'll say so.
