Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Montreal Canadiens|STREAKING WHILE CLOTHED |ALL-IN 2013

Welcome to Pittsburgh!!

If there is one thing Shero is preparing for - it's a seven game series against Boston. We might have overspent big time on these guys, but you cannot deny we are adding grit and size to our team. Something I think we've missed big time, especially in the corners in both zones. We also added leadership, nastiness, and hunger to win a Stanley Cup. Both guys are going from average hockey teams to a top contender. We need guys who are hungry for the Cup and these two are definitely ready.

We will have to see where these guys take us, but I think our team is stronger to play against. I can't wait to see both guys when they get comfortable and hopefully we do not lose too much speed.

Welcome to Pittsburgh, boys. Now bring us Lord Stanley.

Great GDT Cole!

Not only am I pumped for this game.... I'm just pumped in general. Our team is ****ing going for it this year. There are many teams who would be satisfied to win a round... or two... or the win the ECF.... or just to make the Cup Finals... but not us. This year is truly go big or go home. Nobody here will be satisfied with anything less than a cup, this year moreso than most. We're healthy (ish) right now, we're loading up on depth, and we're on a ****ing heater. The time is now! Repent, repent!

Seriously though, the playoffs cannot come quick enough. We have, far and away, the best player in the world, another player who's arguably second, a top 10 defenceman in the league by anyone's account, Martin who's playing like he wants to be in that discussion, a 40-goal scorer in Neal, a guy who's on pace for more than that and a career year in Kunitz, an underrated heart-and-soul warrior who's leading the league in ES goals in Dupuis, a Sutter, and MAF who's been great all year and looks to shake his playoff demons of last year.

Sorry, waxing semi-poetic, but this is truly an exciting time to be a Pens' fan and I'm going to revel in it for once. Enough of this negative nancy bull-**** for one day and one thread. Nevermind if you think we gave up a better prospect than we should have or a better pick, who cares. Let's get excited that we have a bonafide, legitimate powerhouse.

Win or lose I'm excited for the game.

Pens need to come out flying from the start.

4-2 Pens

Morrow has a goal in his Debut
Murray has a monster hit in his debut
Crosby 3 goals including an empty netter.

I don't even care about the streak any more. More interested in seeing what Morrow is able to do out there. I know the guy has lost a step or two (or three), but I expect his warrior attitude to rub off on his linemates and the rest of the lineup too.

Very pumped for Morrow's debut. Hopefully the team is juiced and we bang out a win against one of the hotter teams in the East.

Huge game. Despite the long streak the Pens still need some seperation in the eastern conference. They may have a 5 pt lead on the canadians and bruins, but they have two games in hand on the Pens. The Pens are due to lose, and Im sure eventually will. It would be nicer to lose against a team that you arent vying for a playoff position with.

A few pens related notes:
1. First the trade related stuff: It sucks that the short season has led to too many buyers and not enough sellers, because regardless of how many minor holes the aquisitions potentially fill, it still was a large amount of assets to grab a little grit on the third line and hal gill jr. These could be had for half the price paid most other years.
1a If these aquisitions lead to severely reduced ice time for Bennet and DesPres, this becomes an utter waste of assests and real detrament to the long term welfare of the team... only a Stanley Cup would be acceptable as an excuse then, IMO.
1b As much as I hate to flush assests down the toilet, making a run at yet another rental in Igilna remains a real possibility. In the playoffs, having real playmakers and finishers is a must, and Dupris still is the weak link on the top line. Moreover keeping him away from Boston may just be worth the price.
2. The devils are pretty far back in the rear view mirror of the Pens. At this point the pens really only have to go 500 the rest of the way to clinch the division
3. Its been a while since Crosby had a real uberdominant game, and he is due....
4. The pens almost have twice the points of the Flyers... not important to the game, but still...

I was hoping Murray would play I could envision coming out and laying down some thunderous hits, getting the entire team pumped with adrenaline. Then the Sidney Crosby show begins

That Morrow hit was an absolute belter. He built up hardly any speed to get there, just straight up body mass.

If malkin AND Letang is back Bennett cant play since he and Despres has to go to WBS to make room, or we have to make a trade before the game.

I don't care how "slow" Morrow apparently is right now, the man still hits like an absolute freight train.

Hopefully we waive Glass and Eaton before long. No sense is sending Bennett and Despres off just to make room when the other two are far worse options for this team to be dressing.

Murray is so slow he won't be playing til Thursday?!?! Yesh....., i kid. I've come around a lil on him but really wanna see him play. Is Morrow a for sure thing? Can any of you super smart, insiders let me know (stay away Rob Rossi, no one believes you) what the deal is. Heard a little back and forth on his status for tonight.

None the less, awesome GDT!

Like others said - TK could be used on the 4th line (i didn't see Vitale playing in last game... maybe injured?) and Eaton has been stellar. I'd hold on to him just in case.

In a week there is no roster limit. Someone may be sent down for a day or two, but will be right back up here.

Somehow the focus of the deals are to beat Boston. For me Montreal is the team that can be the achilles heal for the Pens. Boston with out Chara are not anywhere the roster that can hang with the Pens if healthy. They can bang Chara by game three he is not quite the defensive force. The Canadians can skate, play D and have very good goaltending. Price is a little over rated, but still formidable.

The Canadiens have always been full of **** against us so ya I wouldn't be surprised if they would beat us for how lucky that team is

Just that feeling you know things are going to go bad, yup i'm feeling it tonight. Been seeing this garbage team(Habs) for way too long to know how full of **** they can be. Predict all the luck going their way including plenty of pp and a 5 on 3 for over 1 minute

I've felt like the streak was going to end for the last 7 games, so obviously I am going to keep feeling that way until it actually does.

Any idea who's starting in goal tonight? I think Fleury has won 9 in a row or something at home.

I have not been happy with the efforts in the first forty minutes of the Isles and Flyers game. We've looked lethargic. In fact, I was even surprised with how the Flyers played. They are playing for golf, not the playoffs. They had zero heart.

Montreal will have heart tonight. They are in a close close close race for their division against their hated rival. If we don't show up for 60, then expect it to end.

A few things that could make us come in w/ a lack of focus: 1) Players wondering if they are going to be waived/traded/sat since we have new acquisitions. 2) The new acquisitions focusing on the move as opposed to the game. 3) Chemistry. We've had solid chemistry recently, but need to regain that w/ people coming back.

If you want the Pens to get 1st overall in the conference, I think tonight's game is the key. They would open up quite a comfortable lead on the Canadiens, while Boston and Montreal play each other twice in the next week and a half.

I think Tanger and Geno are out tonight, so it's going to require maximum effort from everyone. Hope to see the 4th line continue to build on their recent good play.

Wondering where Morrow slots in. Not a fan of a Morrow - Jeffrey - Neal line. Worst skating 2nd line in the NHL?

Does Kennedy go to the 4th line? This is really really interesting.

Liking the trades or not, I'm pretty happy to see some new blood in the line up. Both players should add a lot of bite and I'm hoping the Pens are turning into a bunch of cowboys again.

IMO they've lost some edge over the past two years and badly need that spark back.
