I apologize, I thought I voted on this. My bad on the inactivity on this vote.

You throw in a 20th round pick with a trade for say, a 1st, and thats just like tacking on buddys consolation round pick. As commish you just go in and set whatever last 10 picks are in the draft to the keepers for each player.

Example: I had 10 picks in the first 5 rounds last year in my other league. My keepers were picks in 6-15 round, and the other 5 rounds were consolation picks for other players who had given up picks to me for rentals.

It actually makes things ways simpler.
So basically the keepers replaces the "last picks" for each team? how are the consolation picks ordered? We have our own definition for ordering the Supplemental A/Bs in our draft, will it be able to follow it that way? I think it might be moot if I can edit the draft order anyways, to keep the proper ordering.

Or are there "extra room" for uneven trades in the draft board? Whats the maximum amount of picks each team can have? We have a roster of 20.

Edit: I think I get it, just need a couple of clarifications.

What happens to round 16-20 in your case?
If you utilize all 20 picks for trading, then each team will always have their first 11 picks, in whatever rounds they may be, and then their next 9 picks which are keepers.

In Eddie's case, it seems like keepers are round 6-15, because he had all his picks in the first 5 rounds. So what happens to the last 5 rounds? Traded to the teams with lesser than 10 draft picks.

In my view, they will be ordered incorrectly with the supplemental draft pick rules we have. Also, have to consider the fact that a team may not declare a full set of 9 keepers (7+2 rookies), and that they have Supplemental A picks for their missing keeper, before Supplemental B picks for those that do not have enough draft picks.

But yes, with manual edits, things can be fixed...but just throwing some scenarios out there to take out the clinks for next season.

Does it matter what round they're in? Every one in the league still had 20 picks. You'll have to re-order some to account for our supplementary pick rules, but it accounts for everything else.

Believe me, after the last four years I know that feel bro. But it's only Tuesday, this week has just barely begun. Plenty of time for my team to crash burn as it historically usually does.

yup. exactly. It makes sure that when draft day starts everyone ends up with the right number of picks in GENERALLY the right order. A couple quick swaps and your good to go. It wont even let you save it if theres someone with an extra pick.

I'll also deal depth guys for short term upgrades. Tlusty, Leddy, Carlson, Martin, Dubnyk - if you want to trade me someone older but better (i.e. non-keeper due to age) so you can keep any of them, I'm listening.

If I made you an offer before with my 6th, it's either a 7th now, or else I can make it a 5th if you send back your 7th (IMO two 7ths are worth a 5th, and I'm less inclined to trade picks now that I've shipped one out).

For all of you offering on Jimmy Howard, take note...that's why I'm asking a lot for him. He'll be a huge piece this year and a top keeper goalie is apparently worth the world in this league.

Anyone who wants to talk trade with me, you have an hour. I'm leaving for hockey in an hour, then going out drinking after. Doubt I'll be home or on before the deadline's done.

I'm going to work in 30 minutes and I'm working until midnight. I'll check PMs at my breaks etc but to me adding some 7th, 8th, 9th rounders isn't worth selling the farm, if someone really wants a couple rentals, throw me a mid-high pick for 3-4 guys (Pavelski, Boyes, Whitney, Morrow, Staal, Whoever) and it will give your team a big boost. I'm very happy to deal 3-5 guys in 1 deal if it can get me one potential keeper or mid-high back!

so. PM me with offers. have fun tonight boys
