Related to the above....

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2...rs-to-get-him/

Ducks sign Radek Dvorak (and put him on waivers).

So, it's possible, the he could be in the line up against the Sharks (unless another team picks him up).

Played in Davos (with Thornton) this season.

@AnaheimDucks 19m
New #NHLDucks signee Radek Dvorak has cleared waivers. He arrived in Orange County late last night and could be on the ice this morning.

@AnaheimDucks 19m
Dvorak will currently be non-roster status as he still needs to go through the immigration process.

They eliminated re-entry waivers. The overseas waivers still applies, I think.

Yes, let's make Sharks hockey even more boring by putting in the 1-3-1.

Called to check if there was practice today (per published schedule) and determined there won't be. But found out the Wings will be practicing @ Sharks Ice tomorrow, for those interested.

Wow, can't believe the Canes couldn't get anything for Jokinen. Don't think we'd want to take on that cap hit but he wouldn't be a bad fit here.

I think we should take a flyer on Jokinen. He may work out, but he'll be a cheapish decent option for the top-6 next season if we don't get anyone for Clowe. Good underlying numbers, poor shooting luck, and he's only 29.

3 million isn't to cheap, especially considering you are paying a player 10 times better the exact same price tag in couture.

He's been absolutely awful this season, but then again so has Clowe, at least Jokinen fits our needs better. I'd probably take a flier on him too, with the compliance buy out you have a kind of get out of jail free card anyway, if Plattner is ok with that.

Seems like a good change of scenery guy, like Clowe. Worth the minor risk, doubt he'll make it to us though.

To get a top 6 forward for free and only pay him 3mil is a good deal IMO. He is also the type of forward we could use. If he doesn't work out, trade him for a pick or waive him. Low risk medium reward deal.

outside of 1 flukey season he has been nothing more then a 3rd liner.

adding him the the top 6 is just adding more of the same problems we have with the scoring on the team, picking up players that just aren't that good, and hoping to freaking god that they turn into a superstar.

345pts in 566 in games is top 6 numbers IMO. He averages .61ppg which would be 50pts in a 82 game season which is pretty good for a 2nd line forward. Also, you have to consider that he wasn't playing on very good teams so his linemates haven't been the best.

Lets say the Sharks grab Jokinen off waivers. Are the Sharks entitled to take on his full salary? What about after he clears waivers? Can the Sharks still aquire him for less?

They take on his full contract if they claim him off waivers. If he clears, the Sharks will have to trade for him.
