Well that's my question, is Turris capable of moving to the wing and beinf effective? If that's a yes, then a Spezza/Roy 1-2 would be great.

He is a UFA...............So yeah we do.

A player + pick sounds fair

Do you expect Zibby + 1st????

Turris has played wing before, and his skillset isn't ill-suited to playing there. My only concern would be forcing Turris over for someone that would be a rental. If we planned on re-signing Roy it wouldn't be a bad deal.

He's not a UFA until the summer.

Sure. A complete spare part player and a late pick isnt even close. You did see what Brenden Morrow and Douglas Murray just got traded for, right? Roy is a better player then either of them.

And now you go to the other extreme. Of course I dont expect that. I said nothing of the sort.

People are getting antsy... As a Dallas fan, what would you expect exactly?

Right, I'm saying, if you have Turris, Spezza and Roy (assuming you resign him) long term, you'd have three Centers long term signed. Wouldn't that make a player like Zibanejad expendable for the right price?

I'm not saying it's simply Roy, but if you have lots of centers signed long term, a top prospect would be a great trade chip. So he's not untouchable. I get it not for Roy, but he's not untouchable.

They don't. They also don't expect Regin + low pick. Both of those examples are bad.

Im not sure. It really depends if Pittsburgh is the only team willing to pay a relatively high price for a rental, or if other teams will follow as we get close to the deadline.

Just based on these recent deals, I think Nieuwendyk would be asking for Noesen. I think he's more focused on trading for prospects instead of picks, as they are a little closer to NHL-ready.

Center is the last position we need to fill right now. Especially at the expense of good prospects.

Plus, Roy's said a few times he has no desire to come to Ottawa so he's no lock to re-sign in the summer.

Dallas will ask for something around the value of a 1st and a 3rd. Maybe a touch more.

I think we are more inclined to ask for a A-/B+ prospect than a 1st rounder, so that we can get that player into the lineup in the next year, since the Stars had plans to slot Roy as 2nd line center for the next few years before contract talks fell apart.

I like roy but I also like our top 3 centres. I'm conflicted.

Many duck fans have said Bonino's name a few times, but i am not one of them. Regardless of what we think though, Bruce loves him. He puts him on top PP unit due to his vision sometimes. Anyway id center a deal around DSP personally and start there.

I would imagine something around Da Costa + 3rd 2013 or 2nd 2014 would do it.

Is Cody Ceci available?

If not, what about Noesen + '14 2nd?

Dallas will be looking center. I suspect they would include something for the guy they want. Newy has shown the tendency to target players and then overpay. WHL guys especially

Ceci is not available, he's our only blue chip D prospect and Murray is extremely high on him.

I'd also add Zibanejad, Silfverberg and Cowen to the no deal list.

Stone and Noesen could be moved for the right deal, even more so Puemple.

Other than them the majority of prospects are available.

Yah it doesn't sound like I'm leaving much but its not gonna be easy to take our best prospects away from us considering what we had to do to get them. (Losing Fisher, Kelley, etc)

The Sens aren't in the same win-now mode that the Pens are, so to expect them to pay up for UFAs is unlikely. Murray's gone on record numerous times saying he doesn't want to give up our young players for UFAs.
