I'd bring him in as a tweener, similar to Gomez. Gives you a little bit better depth. Better than sending assets in return for someone and then not having them work out (as is our standard practice)

I agree. You could play him with Couture and Patty instead of Wingels or you could put with Pavs on the 3rd line with Shep.

he's a 50 point player, i'm sorry but that is very very very bottom of the barrel for top 6. if you want to pick up a 50 point player, give me jordan staal every day of the week and 10 times on sunday.

jokinen is not good defensively, he is not a goal scorer (like i said outside of that one fluke season), guess he is a good playmaker (the sharks need those right? the sharks lack those right?)

I don't know what you are talking about with one fluke season. He has had many top 6 worthy seasons. It is a move that helps out with our depth. It gives us a fast guy who is capable of playing the top 6. Like hockeyball said, JJ is a good tweener.

Just checked his stats again and he is 54% on faceoffs in his career. Pretty good for a winger. 1608 wins 1388 losses

his one fluke season 30 goals, 65 points. all other seasons under 20 goals, and only 2 other seasons in the 50 point mark.

he has had 3 40 point seasons.

he has had 2 seasons with less then 30 points.

so far this season he is on pace for about 15-20 points.

if you think 40, heck even 50 points is worthy of top 6, then i guess he will for sure fit in with the sharks top 6.

55pts in 82 games isn't good? 50 points in 70 games isn't good? Just look he is playing with this year. He is playing with 3rd/4th liners. I wouldn't expect him to produce with them.

I guess Clowe isn't a top 6 player either since averages 52 points a year. Pavelski averages 57 points a year so he isn't a top 6 player, right? Martin Erat averages 48 points a year so he must be a 3rd liner at best.

This has been the Flamiest season for the Flames ever.

1) Sign Dennis Wideman and Jiri Hudler -> Suck
2) Sign Roman Cervenka -> Healthy scratch
3) Offersheet Ryan O'Reilly -> Don't notice that he would have had to go through waivers
4) Second biggest trade chip won't waive for anywhere

Toronto now knows how it feels to have a player tell you he's not coming to your team.

First biggest trade chip has a very limited list of teams he will allow a trade too. Man, thats brutal.

So the Flames are officially giving up and rebuilding? 5 years too late but better late than never I suppose. Finally figured out finishing 9th every year puts you in no man's land.

Letang had been out for a week or so before the trade also.

Jarome Iginla traded to PIT for PIT's 1st rounder in 2013 and college prospects Kenneth Agostino (Yale) and Ben Hanowski (St. Cloud State).

https://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie/s...46916137861120

It was previously reported that Iginla was headed to the Bruins.
