The best player to be waived ever

Who do you think is the best player to get waived ever? Bryz comes to mind first.
P.S. I mean the best at the time they got waived.

Briere is the guy that came to mind for me.

Probably not the best ever, but Pominville was waived by Buffalo years back and cleared.

Nah, he was overpaid and injured at that point.

Wasn't Marc Savard waived as well?

Recchi put up some solid seasons after being waived in 07 with Atlanta.

07-08.......ATL 12-28-40 in 53gp
08-09 TBL/BOS 23-38-61 in 80gp, PO 3-3-6 in 11gp
09-10.......BOS 18-25-43 in 81gp,........PO 6-4-10 in13gp
10-11 BOS 14-34-48 in 81gp, PO 5-9-14 in 25gp

Do you mean the best player at the time they got waived or a player with the best career who was waived at some point during it? He is up there either way.

st. louis and briere, both very similar situations too (granted, briere was a first round draft pick and st. louis was a college FA). Small, offensively explosive forwards who couldnt get anything going during their waiver-exempt years in the NHL due to their size (and they both got a shot). They both actually cleared.

I remember being very angry when the Habs didn't pick up Briere on waivers. He was the guy I wanted when they drafted Matt Higgins in 1996 and I thought for sure the Habs would pick him up on waivers, considering how crappy the team was at the time.

Martin Straka and Robert Lang are the best examples for Pittsburgh.

I was so pissed when bryz fell in the coyotes laps. The kigns were last in the league won a game leap frogging Phoenix allowing them to make the claim.
Worked out in the end though.
