Grigorenko and Forsberg were ranked 2nd & 3rd last season depending what ranking you read and they went 11th & 12 to Wash. and Buff. So Zykov at 15th in one ranking means squat really, besides their are numerous forwards that can be chosen from between 8th - 45th IMO. their differences are minimal.

Yep.

What killed Grigo though is the age he was... 31 ?

Forsberg dropped because he's too handsome.

Possible 6th & 7th round picks from European ranks centers;Osnovin,Eller,Wallmark,Crus-Rydberg.Then LW's;Pavel Zykov,Yerofeyev,Slepyshev.all these players could be NHLers.

Just checking in. What is Jordan Subban's predicted rank? Would somewhere around 21-45 be accurate & do you think we should use one of our seconds on him?

Honestlly, if his name wasn't Subban, is this guy would rank in the second round? A 5'9'' Dman as dynamic as he can be must be very special to be effective in the NHL and with the kind of prospects this draft has in the second round.... I don't know. Seems like he has been overhyped since PK's success. He was high in the rankings and scouts were waiting for a growing spurt that never came.... Maybe he will beat the odds but I'm not sure I would take that gamble in the second round with the prospect pool we have.

Last I heard he was a late second early 3rd. Stock seems to have dropped quite a bit.

Is Zykov related with Zykov?

I'd be all over Slepyshev. He's a real talent.

I started off the season not being all that high on Jordan, but thinking maybe a 3rd round pick would be worth it for the "fun" brother factor, basically. But I have to admit that the more I watch him play, the more I'm impressed by him, just on his own merits, never mind the fun brother factor. I would almost certainly at least rank him in the 2nd round now.

But that said, as much as he's a good player, it's a deep draft, and I'd probably hope/expect to get a couple guys I rank in the 1st round with my first couple of 2nd rounders. And the Habs probably have player type needs that don't really match with a 5'9" defenseman. If our own 2nd pick is in the mid-50's, or we have an early 3rd and he's on the board, I'd at least be ready to consider him. Just that again, it's a pretty deep draft, and I don't know what all has to transpire for there not to be other interesting players available that fit our needs a little better.

He'll go higher than predicted because of his family name. But I think he'll be worth it. Small but can move the puck....I predict 35-40th overall

For the 3rd rd USNTDP RW - Michael McCarron-6'5"-225lbs. then C - John Hayden 6'2"-215 lbs. and in the 5th rd. LW - Tyler Hill 6'6"-220 lbs.-Hotchkiss Prep/Conn High. All three going to college McCarron -Western Michigan, Hayden -Yale, Hill -USHL-Muskegon Lumberjacks or CHL/OHL-Ottawa 67's or UNIV/Undecided.This would give the Habs a Power Forward for each line or a huge energy line, either way the smaller forwards won't get injured with these guys in the lineup,3-4 yrs from now.

I'd say that that ranking is helped a bit by his name.

Patrice Brisebois is at the Gatineau - Rimouski game tonight, per Francois Gagnon twitter. Checking Morin's game on a scouting assignement?

our 1st

We will probably be picking appx 25.Realistically we could be able to pick J.T. Compher,Ryan Hartman or Curtis Lazar. These are all gritty M.B.type of picks.Who should we grab with our first?

LOL.
Actually, the guy who tweeted was just beside me.

And I was beside Brisebois.

Morin? Shown his tools, scored one goal, but didn't had a great game per se. But he definitely has tools and his offensive game is somewhat underrated.
Kostalek? Solid, but no impact whatsoever on that game. Was possibly the 4th best Rimouski D tonight, after Gagné, Morin and Babineau.
Actually, the best 2013 eligible D was Jean-Simon Deslauriers of Gatineau, who probably won't get drafted. Undersized puck-mover with two great feeds.
Best player on the ice? Émile Poirier, of course. Totally eclipsed Gauthier, who wasn't bad, but just came up as a system player. My biggest concern about Gauthier was his utter lack of emotion, which Poirier, Morin and even Kostalek had today.

Didn't watch the whole game but I can't believe Gauthier will amount to anyt more than a third liner.

Poirier on the other hand...
