Let's hope the Hawks Powerplay shines tonight, this has gone on my nerves for the past few weeks.

I'm more worried about defense and goaltending. Both have fallen off considerably since the 1st half of the season.

I think we need to win this game to get it going again. I hate losing

and guys, as it looks right now Iginla will end up in Boston.

Apparently Boston and Calgary are (potentially), closing in on a deal for Jarome Iginla, according to Darren Dreger. Dreger says, via twitter, "It's not close, but.. it could progress if Flames make a decision. Boston also looking at other options including players with term on contracts"

By the sounds of it, it would take a combination of Teravainen, McNeill, Danault, Pirri, Morin, J/K.Hayes, Clendening, Johns and Chicago's 1st this year to get Iginla.

You mean, since six games ago? Kinda a small sample.

It will look like they will, then they will tie it with 1.8 seconds left and win in a SO.

But seriously, we did have a good game last time, hopefully it is similar this time.

Good luck tonight, Hawks fans. (y'know, just in case you'll actually need it.)

This isn't a "must win" by any means but this game is a "the hawks better win".

Has Emery been finalized as the starter?

Wondering if he has a repeat flames ownage in his near future. That was an insane game by him.
(which was also the second of a back to back)

On a tangent from the point of this this thread, but i thought i'd ask...
Wouldn't the Hawks be better off focused on a 2nd line center as being the greater priority than a RWer in Iginla? Especially since Calgary is likely targeting roster or prospect centers in return?

I'm thinking we bounce back. After our last extended break we were rusty on the first game back against the Jackets and then looked good the game after that. I'm expecting the same tonight. I guessed 3-2 in the prediction game, but I'm thinking more like 5-2.

Flames have lost their last 9 games on the road. Their last win on the road was February 17th against Dallas. In their last 9 games on road, they were +120, +120, +115, +170, +180, +140, +105, +130, +150 underdogs. Tonight they come in as +165 underdogs against the favorite Hawks -190.

After getting dominated last game against Calgary combined with the pathetic performance last night and how horrid the Flames are on the road, anything less than a win in this one is unacceptable.

I have said the Hawks have been bad at letting up first period goals and someone did the research.

Quote:
The Blackhawks have given up 12 goals (one empty) in the final two minutes. Four in the first period, 3 in the second & 5 in the third.

I am far from a Bolland basher, but how many times have you heard "Bolland had an empty net there if he lifts the puck" this year?

He did get it up, there just wasn't much to shoot at and it was on his backhand.
