Bad play by Perron that led to that goal, but watching that period, the Blues made several turnovers at the opposing blue line. That looked a lot like a teamwide issue that needs to be cleaned up before the 2nd.

You can't make plays that aren't there. The puck needed to go deep, not across the blueline. You have to know when to hold em,know when to fold em so to speak and its been plaguing this team all year.

Funny you say that. Perron should have put the puck in deep once he ran out of real estate near the blue line. Everyone, which includes Petro (who stepped up), was waiting for that puck to go back in deep. Thats what happens when we have possession of the puck on the blue line. We either shoot it, pass or dump it back down low. Surely that wasn't Perron's fault.

See, I disagree with this. AP made the bad play. He steps up, chips the puck to himself, then doesn't get the pick deep. Perron gets the puck and has to make a snap decision. But at this point he's already in a vulnerable position due to AP not making the play. I find it hard to pin that play on Perron.

Could he have tried to put it up the wall? Sure. But AP and the Oiler player were both standing directly in front of him. Not to mention he's right handed and literally right up against the boards. Not much room for leverage there. He -was- trying to get it deep imo, it just happened that he decided to try and go more towards the middle of the ice, where he had more leverage, and it popped off a pad right to the Oilers.

Not to mention Jacks totally misplayed the two on one, he was actually stepping forward when Perron made the play, instead of playing conservative and making sure the puck went in deep before following it up....then he couldn't decide if he wanted to skate forwards or backwards, ending up putting himself behind the play in general, and forced to make a diving-forward-stick-stretched-out prayer on the play, where if he had just skated a little better would have been in a much better position to block that pass.

Does Perron deserve some blame for that goal? Yes. But AP and Jacks both had opportunities to make stronger plays and didn't.

Nice wrap around by Oshie, but nice save by Khabibulin. The Blues have had a few really good chances on this PP.

Their goalie outplays our goalie. That's been the cause of way too many of our losses. Can't lose to Calgary and Edmonton in back to back games. That's a way to get buried in the standings.

Great pass by Shattenkirk to Perron, but Khabibulin was up to the task, and that led to the Oilers' goal. I'm not liking the looks of this game. The Blues MUST win this game!

How about their finishers are finishing better than our finishers?

Don't know what to say. Pretty pathetic display by the team, and we're getting owned by Khabibulin.
