Asking anything from Bolland beyond taking a stick to the face is asking a little too much.

No. Kane's been the best player on this team since day one. I get everyone likes to say Toews is the best, but there's little doubt who the Hawks MVP has been this year.

Debatable right now. Toews is having a great season and if I have to choose between the two I still take Toews, but Kane's offense is carrying the team right now. If he doesn't step up with Sharp and Hossa down then we're in some trouble.

Just to put Kane's season so far in perspective, he has more assists than anyone else on the team not named Jonathan Toews has points.

Still should have traded him for Miller, though.

Kane is a one zone player having the offensive year of his life, Toews, like Hossa is an every zone player, every type player (PP, PK, ES), every time of game player.

Kane's among the team and I think league leaders in takeaways. He's been quite good defensively this year.

Yup. Kane is still mostly useless in the D zone. Rarely even attempts at assisting a d-man along the boards.

Pat Kane is on pace for 105 points over an 82 game season. Jonathan Toews is on pace for 82 points. That is a 23 point difference...the difference between Steven Stamkos and Jason Pominville last seeason. No doubt Kane has been too good offensively to not be the MVP this year of the Hawks.

Ask yourself one HONEST question, game on the line, hawks up a goal, last minute of play. Do you want Kane on the ice?

I sure as heck do NOT.

didnt a great defensive play by kane just lead to a penalty and 2 on 1? he's not a great defensive player, but he's at least average. he's also top 10 in the nhl in takeaways.

Well, he's a winger. The Dman would have to be pretty high up along the boards for it to make sense for Kane to get in there.

While takeaways aren't necessarily an indicator of good defense, his play in his own zone has improved a lot over the last few years. Kane being bad defensively is mostly reputation at this point and he's improved because of being around guys like Toews and Hossa.

Belushi totally ignored her and stared down the girl shooting the puck. She was not having it.
