That's only re-entry waivers. If we pick him up on normal waivers we assume responsibility for his entire contract.

Write each players +/-, some bizarre interpretation of being PPG, and a couple of falsehoods about the situations they play in on a small brick..... then throw it at your face.

Spare yourself the argument and learn from the inevitable pain.
Saved you some time.

That's not really that rediculous. Gardiner is very good and might have more offensice potential than Adam. However, I dont believe he'll be as good as Larsson overall when everything is said and done. And you could argue Kadri is better than Henrique, not saying that's how i feel. But Kadri is one hell of a player who i think has PPG player written all over him year in year out.

I'd like to see Jokinen get picked up. Why not. When everyone is healthy the line up will look better than the rotating group of ahl'ers.

Not sure about Larsson/Gardiner, but I'd do the Henrique/Kadri swap.

Hey Saugus, looks like you were wrong about Nazem Kadri. What a season that guy has had so far

Kadri looks good but I'd rather keep Henrique, not a believer in Kadri, regardless of how he has played thus far.

As much as I hate to see anyone go because I like the current roster, you can't help but wonder if another year of minor additions will be enough. It's tough to say because of the injuries, but even still, if they don't start playing like they know how to, I'm skeptical on our chances to get past the first round.

I love(d) clarkson. He had a great year and got a promotion from Pete. Not sure he belongs in the top 6, his inability or refusal to pass the puck makes his line very limited. I don't like him with Patty at all.

I felt once the Iginla stuff came out this was a Lou move (Gilmour, Mogilny). considering the current costs of other players and his limited list.....I fear we're done making moves. the only way I think this team contends is if it plays the way it can play, but we've seen our Devils underachieve a lot this year aside from injuries. A lot of players have been coastin.

There's bound to be at least one statistical anomaly or two in this shortened season.
Reserving judgement on a lot of the fresh faces/"rising" stars until next season.

Kadri definitely made the most of his time in the minors coming into this year. But a lot of players are going to have people scratching their heads come the start of next season, I feel.

I think a lot of heightened play from vets with fresh legs and/or rookies who were in better game shape from the AHL are going to lead to a lot of boneheaded trades this summer.

I agree with this, sure some of these players look good now but that can likely be attributed to the shortened season.

What exactly does this mean. A shortened season just has less games but the hockey played in the games is the same, probably even more intense.

Taken from the priceless Devils Leafs trade thread:

"I wouldn't trade Kadri for Henrique and Larsson a lone. Adding Kessel and Gardiner just makes me laugh so hard. Wow."

I'm laughing at how insane people are

It's not just the shortened season, it's the players are all over the map in turns what type of game shape they're in.

Players getting their skillsets mangled by new coaches can also be a huge factor in teams that couldn't get brand new systems in place in a shortened camp.

All you have to do is look at how a handful of players had their stats at all time highs/lows or had their career "revitalized" after the last lockout.

Points are also terribly askew as refs are out of game shape as well. They went from calling everything up until about 15 games in... then half the refs put their whistles away, the other half keep calling it tight.

It's not a means to discredit anybody, but it's also a way of saying "let's hold off and see how this translates over a normal season."

It's simple really players have an easier time putting up points consistantly because of the lower number of games, it is just an idea, no clue if that will be the case with a player like Kadri, but I'm certainly not drooling over him like a lot of people seem to be.

It's not uncommon for players to have hot streaks. Especially young players breaking in, they tend to go on a tear early in the season. Having a nice run in a shortened season makes some people think that's the player's level.

If Kadri had 30 points in 30 games in a normal season, then 10 points in the remaining 52, people wouldn't be as impressed as the same spread in a short season.

Jokinen would be a great addition. He's a plus possession guy who's above 50% faceoffs for his career. If all he did was take ice time from Sestito and score shootout goals, it'd be an upgrade.

That being said, does claiming a player drop you down (or later) in the claim order?

Would you trade Larsson for John Carlson? Hypothetically of course. Yes

Not agreeing with either, but the fact that it's a shortened season would make it harder, would it not?... More games in shorter amounts of time, less practice, more traveling, etc. etc.

And since someone mentioned hot streaks, it's also possible to have less hot streaks since it is only a 48 game season. 82 game season gives the chance for multiple hot streaks, moreso than a 48 game season.

I already said Larsson in a trade is off limits to me, but hypothetically I wouldn't trade any defensemen at all for Larsson.
