+3 with 2 assists on his debut? Great start.

This will sound crazy, but Campbell has actually had a very good game making several big saves.

Poor positioning by veterans created 3 goals against that he had not chance on. The only clean shot that beat him was the penalty shot that probably should never have been awarded because he had to make a save before it. The next goal was a blatant trip on Glennie. They put the puck on net and scored on the rebound. The 6th was just a seeing eye shot that somehow made it past a mass of humanity.

Huge goal by Chiasson. He carried it in to the zone, dropped it to Dowling and drove the net. He tapped Dowling's pass into an essentially empty net.

Reilly Smith was the best player on the ice. I can't believe how he immediately jumped back into the AHL, and there was no hangover from being demoted. He was blowing by people, stick handling through crowds, and back checking like crazy. He had a sweet play to Sloan to take the lead at 6-5 as well.

Morrow was everything we expected. I think the Texas twitter and Owen Newkirk oversold some of his shots. He did have some nice hard slappers, but he didn't really get a chance to lay into one. He played smart steady defense, but most importantly everything about his game was confidence, confidence, confidence.

Sad note .... Petersen and Wathier are 4th liners in Texas. For Petersen ... that's a quick fall.

Agreed. If they need anyone, they can take Fraser/Sceviour.

Oh yeah ... and Glennie honestly has a good shot at being a nice complimentary forward for Dallas. There's nothing special about his game ... I know you don't like hearing that about the 8th overall pick, but he has a high motor and seems committed to defense. He could easily fill a similar role as Tomas Vincour in the NHL.

I notice that both of Morrow's points were secondary assists - how did he look in general in the game? Secondary assists can be deceiving - sometimes you get awarded them despite having nothing to do with the actual goal.

The first was just a D to D pass at the blueline. Wrenn fired it on net, and Dowling tipped it in.

The second ... I'm pretty sure should have been a primary assist. All he did there though was dump the puck behind the net. Dowling picked it up, came to the front of the net, tried to pass it to Chiasson, and it was kicked in by the Aeros' D.

ah ok, so not much to do with either goal then.

But reading back through the thread it sounded like people thought he was making good decisions breaking out of the Stars' own end and generally looked good with possession of the puck. That's the most important thing..

Without a doubt. Every move he made was decisive and successful (no turnovers or bobbles). Some times he went with a crisp pass. Other times he throw some stick or body language at a guy. He was definitely equally confident skating with the puck or dishing to someone else.

He had some timely pinches as well, and now that I think about it, I don't recall a single blocked shot.

Seems I missed a nail biter of a game.

I can't wait to see Morrow Saturday. I hope they keep Smith down and to be honest for the same reason they keep Smith down they should keep Fraser down also.

As this point in Dallas' season keep the young guys down to end their season on a high note and bring up a vet like Wandell or something. I'm a little hesistant to bring up Sceviour for the same reasons as Smith/Fraser but have no issue if they do that.

Hopefully Commodore will be in game shape Saturday and we get to see him then also hehe.

Can't even imagine this team if they could get Eakin, Vincour, and Dillon for the playoffs.

Anyone mind tossing together a line-up with those 3 (and anyone I'm missing) in it? Not too familiar with the depth guys.
