As long as Ed Snider is pulling the strings, I don't think it matters much who is g.m.

Pretty much this. They fire Homer they'll just bring in another old Flyer to be a puppet again.

At least the current guy has been good at scouting.

Very true. I don't think he should get the axe this year. People would just complain again when they bring in another ex-flyer to replace him. IMO Snider's more of a problem than anything.

homer stays

i likes homer. lavy, had some good years wit us, but this one is terrible. boucher is one option. then bring some new blood for the ahl crew as well. the other guy i really like is ruff. we arre gonna add some new weapons after some potential trades and draft. this is a talented young core, who at this point are dysfunctional as a whole.

i would ride out this season with Homer, Bryz, and Lavy.

for the sake of this thread if i did anything i would replace Lavy with Ruff and Murray as his asst.

i know simmonds and voracek were young but didn't they struggle under defensive coaches (Murray and Hitchcock)?

Murray and Hitchcock turn 30 goal scorers into 10 goal scorers. The offense would be downright terrible. Most games the Flyers would score 1 or 2 goals. We have done this before and it didn't work.

Maybe they'll name Chris Pronger GM... after he announces our pick at the draft, he can go over to the board and steal all the name-cards of the previous teams' picks.

Have you been watching any Flyers games this year? We're already scoring only 1-2 goals per game.

And deliver an elbow to the poor fool walking up to the stage as Pronger is exiting it.

Only if they allow him to continue trolling the media. Then you bring in Tortorella as a head coach. Best trolling GM/Head Coach combo in the league for sure.

Timmy P would hang himself within a week tops.

Hahahaha. That last sentence got me. I'd love Pronger as a GM because he could actually focus on getting defensemen. Of course I have no clue how good he'd actually be at the job. Seeing a last split-second elbow from him as he walks off the stage at the draft would be priceless though. Just a little head nod and a smirk as he walks by Bettman and then BAM.

Homer will stay I'm sure, part of me thinks Lavy might be around for next season too. If he is fired though, I want them to hire a young, up and coming coach, someone like Eakins from the Marlies.

I wouldn't mind if he gave Bettman an elbow to the head and then proceeded to stomp on the back of his ankle.

ive had enough of the Flyer good old boys as GM. Enough. its not working. Time for a fresh apporach. No Tocchet. No Hextall.
If they want to fire Lavy then Holmgren needs to go with him. Hes to blame for this mess as much as anyone else.

Hextall would actually be good though, he has GM experience from being in LA these past few years.

Homer stays. Other teams envy us in that we have a gm who has balls of steel, who is willing to do what it takes to give this team what it needs.

I'm sure he would be. I am sure Hextall would want to come in here and do things his way. The LA way is building the team thru the draft and have patience. Maybe get a bit worse before we got better. How many around here could deal with that? Could the crypt keeper deal with that? I doubt it.

I doubt anyone is envious of us right now. A underachieving team with a lousy built defense and a inconstant goaltender.
He went all in on all the big time free agents and fell short and we were left with Fedotenko and Gervais. The organization is headed in the wrong direction. But in the end I doubt he fires good old boy Holmgren. He wouldnt fire Clarke. Holmgren will likely leave on his own terms. Like Clarke did.

how exactly is this?

We are pretty young.

We paid a heavy price for our cup flirtation and the pronger fluke injury pretty much derailed everything.

There wasnt much to go after besides the top 2 guys in past ufa.
