I think we were spoiled with how well Crawford started the season. He's had a few shaky starts as of late, but I don't think there's anything to worry about.

He really wasn't all that bad on the roadtrip and came up big against Columbus. He made some big saves yesterday, but he let in 1 or 2 soft ones as well. LA also had some bounces go their way.

If the playoffs were to start now, Crawford should definitely be the starter. He still has a .922 SV% and a 2.02 GAA

So if you weren't in the game thread, you know where to start if you just want to read post game comments. It's pretty nice this way.

Ive never seen so many people complain about a backup goalie who has no technical losses this for into a season. When Ray is in the net, you KNOW he wont cost you the game. Doesn't have to stand on his head, because he wont cost you. I'm so confident in Emery that I did not even watch the game tonight because I had work, and I already know going into the game that it was an automatic win for no other reason that Emery was in the net.

I don't feel that way with Crawford, when I come home late and check the score for Hawk games where Crawford started, I have no idea what I'm in store for. Emery is not like this, I can miss a Hawk game come home late, turn on the TV expecting a WIN when Emery gets the start. You cant buy that confidence, Emery lets his nuts hang low like a dominant wolf in the pack and I like that about the kid.

Great for Razor.
It was also against Calgary.

I think they should go with Ray Emery next game, the problem is about Corey Crawford he is giving up rebounds and the puck is in, i would go with Ray Emery Next game, i know he will do good on Friday, i wouldn't trust Corey Crawford at all.

Lol, people are so fickle.

Pretty sure Crawford would've also managed to shut out a team that managed a grand total of 1 good scoring chance all night too. But... the local logic dictates that now Emery is the man and Crawford sucks.

But after Emery took a dump on the ice against Edmonton, everyone was railing on him and saying Quenneville was a total idiot for not starting Crawford.

Every team knows that if you shoot the puck at Crow's pads you'll get a rebound and a chance to score. He is lousy at rebound control.

Emery has been good although he has some rough moments. I would go with Emery against Anaheim only because we saw how Crow did against them and might as well see how Emery does

Yes, pucks hitting a goalie's pad produce rebounds. How shocking.

That is true whether you are Corey Crawford or Patrick Roy.

Crawford is definitely the guy come playoff time, but Emery has been solid when called upon. It'd be an awesome feather in his cap if he remains undefeated the whole way.

I hope Shaw is still recovering from the flu, because he has been putrid the last 2 nights.

Saad/Emery/Kane were great tonight. Hope Hossa is back on Friday.

People need to remember with the lost on monday was how bad our defense was! we gave up two 2 on 1's that led to goals for LA. Those goals were hard and cant blame crow that them. Yeah he had a weak goal with the doughty goal but get over it. he has been amazing for most of the season and the second he lets in a goal here or there you jump all over him. with hossa and sharp gone our defensive is going to be worse, plus hammer and oduya have had some off games. im ok with this being the hawks slumping time. (last our slump was 9 game losing streak)

Pretty much. The Hawks looked quite good defensively today, but that's what happens when you play Calgary.

Can't just knee-jerk every time a goalie has a tough few games.

The "hot hand" idiocy never works - in the end, the better goalie is the one who plays the big games. And that's Crawford.

It looks like people drum up controversy and negativity just to they can cry about them. Nothing can ever satisfy the fans here it seems. Always with the knee-jerk reaction to the smallest things that weren't perfect. There is no goalie controversy. Both goalies have been good, so a couple of stinkers happened? Big deal, happens to every goalie over a season.

We could have had a few more goals if some bounces went our way, there was a nice 2 on 1, where Hayes should have lifted it, and another chance Shaw had in the third.

Overall good game by the Blackhawk's.

If that pass was on target he would have buried it, tough to lift the shot when you have to fumble for it in your skates.

You guys always seem to have a ridiculously good looking girl shoot during that intermission challenge haha. I've seen it 3 times now.

I'm not sure the Hawks played any better against the Flames than they did against the Kings. The Flames just sucked; they whiffed on a number of very good chances and the Hawks scored a couple soft goals to win and were still 0-fer on the PP...I'm still chewing my nails over what seems to be their current malaise. Friday will tell us more. As everyone else said, I hope Hoss is back, he seems to be a pretty important balancing influence on this team.
