Watched a replay later that night that had the Pens broadcast. Errey said Rinaldo left his feet so that's probably why they're saying that.

Watched highlights on NHL Network and Craig Button said it was a great hit and hit the NHL wants in the league.

Are they talking about the Rinaldo hit on Kunitz? I don't see how that could be a dirty hit.

I thought he left his feet as a result of the hit, not to initiate it.

I have no idea but it was Bob Errey he could make a routine hit on a Pens player sound like a 15 car pile up.

they also villainize B. Schenn for his hit in the playoffs last year but awe and marvel over the hit Kunitz had on Timonen a couple years ago.

Errey would find a way to blame a pedestrian if Crosby ran them over with his truck.

It is posted on the main board but former Flyers' assistant coach Wayne Fleming passed away:

Quote:
Wayne Fleming, one of Ken Hitchcock’s assistant coaches when the two of them were with the Flyers, died Tuesday after a two-year battle with brain cancer.

He was 62.

“He was a great friend on and off the ice,” Hitchcock told CSNPhilly.com. “You couldn’t have a more loyal guy or co-worker as a friend and Wayne had friends in every city.”

Fleming was last an assistant coach in Tampa Bay in 2011. He served as an assistant on six NHL clubs, including the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes, New York Islanders and Flyers from 2002-03 through the 2006 season under Hicthcock.

He and Hitchcock served as assistants under Pat Quinn on Team Canada’s staff in 2002 when the Canadians won the Olympic gold medal in Salt Lake City.

In so many ways, he served as Hitchcock's confidant wherever the two coached.

Sad news about Fleming. His was truly a life well lived. The hockey community and its professional alumna are far better off from his involvement and influence. He will be greatly missed.

Kiprusoff says he won't report if the Flames trade him.

Reading through the threads (Main and Team), I'd say the majority of Flames fans don't blame him.

He has an infant son (2 weeks or so), and one year, $1.5 million left on his contract. Apparently, he never really intended to play next year, and the extra year was essentially a mechanism for circumventing the cap (it was one of the earlier back-diving deals).

3 games before the Wed. 3 PM deadline. NYI, Boston, and Washington.

Im thinking 2-1 at best. 1-2 if Leighton starts the Caps game.

Of course this is with the current roster. I'm not sure what will happen in the next few days, but you have to think some moves may start happening sooner rather then later. Especially after that putrid performance last night.

It has been and will be Bryz until the death. The day Leighton steps into the crease is the day the Flyers call it quits on the season.

I fear you're right. All logic would scream at playing Leighton against the Islanders. But when you're coaching with the sword of Damocles over you, logic tends to take a back seat.

At this point there's no reason to play Leighton anyways.

What exactly would they be resting Bryz for, anyways?

Huh, I don't even...

But yeah, the contract might be on the high end of the range of what I think he deserves, although it looks a bit better when compared to what Getzlaf and Perry got. I guess contracts like this are becoming the new standard now, though, so I wouldn't say it's overpayment.

Total speculation and not based on anything, but I foresee Bryz getting fed up with playing every day and getting scorched every day. I think we see Leighton more down the stretch than we have throughout the year in total to this point.
