If you're a Bruins fan, hopefully this means Jay Pandolfo is mostly there now for veteran presence and not on the ice.

Looks like the bruins brass were impressed with his shootout moves.

Sad to see the guy go, always liked his work ethic whenever he did play.

Could also be a tactical move. Bruins very well could be seeing Ottawa in 1st round, Daugavins will have knowledge of Senators playbook and it could be a blow to the 'Pesky Sens' mantra when they see a guy they genuinely loved out there playing against them.

I see this as good bye to Jordan Caron (as he's probably part of whatever deal we are making). Although, I wish it was to just not dress Pandawful.

Don't see why neither is a possibility. Bruins sit in 2nd, but could just as easily be 4th by season's end which would slot them up against Ottawa in the first round. Ottawa is a team that should not be as high as they are, but have succeeded with a team-first pesky Sens mantra (Seriously, check any Senators' twitter page after a win and they're all talking about 'Pesky Sens'). Not saying either is the only reason Boston may have claimed Daugavins, but I can definitely see them being factors. Plus, it's no risk as if Daugavins doesn't provided either of those advantages, or plays poorly, he's an RFA this offseason and can just not be qualified and let go.

Will miss him, doubt the Bs play him much, but I wish him moderate luck with them.

So surprised he slipped down as far as Bruins. Great depth guy to have around. Is talented when given a chance to show it, but his hard work is world class. Fast skater, finishes his hits, etc. Any team would be lucky to have him.

If he plays instead of Pandolfo I'm more than happy.
