Going to be funny if Boston gives up anything substantial and the Iginla rumours heat up even more.

I see no credible source confirming this, just Eklund lite speculation.

for a few weeks or two, then he will go back to being brutal. That's what Whitney's mojo has always been.

Bobby Mac isn't credible enough for you?

Anyways, the header should be changed from "Rumor" to "Speculation" should it not?

Don't you every say the words "very good" and whitney in the same sentence.

It would be very good if Edmonton could trade Whitney.

Anyone comparing Whitney to Barker is braindead or has never watched Whitney play. Or a combination of both.

Whitney is a great PP QB, and contributes as much to the Oil PP as J Schutlz does IMO.

Would Boston deal Peverley for Whitney? I know Peverley has struggled somewhat this year.

Boston would be stupid to give up Subban, And Calgary wont deal with Boston unless they give up Subban.

Boston has had good success with integrating defencemen into their system. Whtney has really declined in the last year or so to the point he was benched at times. But he could play a role on a fairly deep deep Boston defence on a strong defensive team.

Agreed, Whitney isn't playing great this year, but he's light-years better than Barker.

I'm not even a Bruins fan and I am chuckling over Peverly for Whitney. No chance. We should just hope for the best pick we can get.

He may improve them in one aspect that they have been lacking in this year, their PP.

That's just not true.
Barker was better.
But seriously, this watered down version of Whitney is still a lot better than Barker at his best at least offensively. Defensively, Whitney does have some Barkeritis.

I think the poster who gave a Whitney vs Penner comparison is bang on. Whitney traded to a playoff team will do wonders. I see him playing like a top 4 d-man but in the 5/6 role on a playoff team with PP time.

I have watched almost all Oiler games this year and the hate is a little unjustified. Everyone in Edmonton remembers and compares him to the #1/2 d-man he was a couple years back.
