Murray should be perfect for playoff hockey. The refs let way more clutching and grabbing go and his toughness around the net will be a huge help. As much as a lot of people like to rag on Gill, he was extremely valuable in the playoffs. I still remember him destroying Franzen with some brutal crosschecks to the back. You need that

"and then we're gonna find our best friend Doug, and then we're gonna give him a best-friend hug - Douuuuug Douuuug OhDouuug Dougy Dougy Doug Doug"

If memory serves, Murray had among the lowest body fat % on the Sharks. While the notion of dropping weight is novel, i do not think it is realistic.

Never heard of this Goon movie until now. Good stuff. Worth an iTunes rental?

Yah but aren't there ways (by varying the type and mix of workouts) to drop weight without losing strength? Less heavy lifting more cardio, etc?

It is worth it. Actually it is based on a true story. Based on Doug Smith. George Laraque even played a minor role in the film.

Doesn't mean he wouldn't benefit, mobility-wise, from dropping some weight (even if its muscle).

I am going to guess that has been considered and pursued to the degree possible.

But sure: I suppose Under Armour's tight-ass hockey pants are the male equivalent of what the LuluLemon yoga pants are for womens' buttocks. Though I much prefer to think of the latter.

Looking damn good out there, No one mentioned that rocket shot. Mostly on net too. But is making life hell in front and behind the net for the Jets. This is the walking corpse we were told about?

I know! It's almost like players can play differently on different teams, Jaded.

Errey is going berserk over Murray and I can't stop laughing.

"Kane tried to hit Murray and Murray looked at him like he wanted to eat him!"

"Murray's down below the goal line! He's lost his mind Steigy!"

Murray is the gift that keeps on giving. Unless he's eating you.

He's real slow, but he's a beast in front of the net. He just shoves guys out of the way like nothing. He also gets the puck on net quickly...rarely a blocked shot.

It's early, but I'm digging how he plays.

It's kinda weird how he just stays in front of the net regardless of where the puck goes on the cycle. Niskanen doesn't seem to mind chasing though. Whatever works.

Wait until he catches a forward trying to protect the puck in the corner and just hurls them to the ice and skates away with the puck. He can do things physically most players cannot, and it will probably blow the minds of the uninitiated.
