Anyone been to the Tavern United before a Jets game?

Thinking of going there for lunch before a game. Just wondering how quick they are and how much time I should give myself and party for lunch so we aren't late for the game.

I have and it’s a good place to pre-game. I assume since you said lunch it is an afternoon game you are thinking of attending? You would be wise to call and speak to a manager soon and ask when they think they will fill for the game you are attending (and also do they take reservations). also if you have a big party (more than 4) you might need to get their earlier. On balance you wouldn't want to cut it too fine and most places around the MTS centre fill at least 2 hours before puck drop.

Have no idea, really, but I'm assuming it wouldn't be cheap - they aren't in Toronto at the ACC, and I'm sure the MTS Centre would be a similar proposition. Would certainly be fun!

There's a link to send an email there. Maybe you could feign interest so we could get an idea of the cost.

Perhaps he just has a narrow definition of it. One of the (few) bad things you can say about his hockey play is that he doesn't have a particularly accurate shot. Scores by quantity. I think he's 0 for X lifetime in shootouts, for example. And came in last in the shooting accuracy contest last year (was unable to hit 4 targets within the time limit).

He definitely isn't a great shootout players, but goal scoring is what he does.

Kaner is going to put up 40+ at some point. That is what goal scorers do.
Kaner had one of the best goal scoring seasons any 20 year old ever had.
Most non-Stamkos goal scorers score based on shot volume.

It's an odd comment for sure. IMHO doesn't matter how you put them in. You execute your role whether it's by sniping or by driving to the net, or by sheer quantity of shots.

I have a fun filled evening planned for me. It begins now, with me catching a few hours of sleep before the game. Then, watching the game with a beer or two. Finally, it wraps up with me playing Bioshock Infinite on my PC until the sun comes up, likely.

Oh, the benefits of working nights.
