I expect better goal scoring ability/potential from Fasth than I do/would from Hagelin....

I would be very happy if Fast(h) became as good as Hagelin. Having another fast winger who can play defense and rack up 50 points is big.

We should expect him to be a more natural goal scorer than Hags and more opportunistic around the front of the net. The sooner the better.

Saskatoon lost last night, so both McColgan and Nicholls are done with their seasons. Nicholls will definitely get a shot in Hartford, and I'd imagine McColgan gets a tryout as well.

EDIT: As was mentioned in another thread, Saskatoon is hosting the Memorial Cup this year. IDK if that means we won't see either guy in Hartford.

Fasth is 5-11 176. Gallagher with the Habs is 5-8. Same weight.

Where is that listed? I thought he was larger than that? 6'0 ~190?

HV71 lists Fasth as 5'11", 176. The Rangers list him same height, 165. EliteProspects has him at 6'0" and 176. The roster on the Swedish federation site in advance of the SEL playoffs has him at 6'0", 180.

So he's 5'11" or 6', 175 or so.

C'mon, I hope every single person on this board would be thrilled if that turned out to be the case. That's a homerun!

pretty sure they can't join hartford until after the memorial cup because technically their junior seasons aren't over yet...

Yeah that sounds right.

Too bad, I'd like to see more of Nicholls. I find him to be a more interesting prospect than McColgan, who I have never liked.

Yep. If a sixth round pick plays a single NHL game that's a win. When you get down that late in the draft, you're looking at like a less than one percent chance of finding an NHL-caliber player. To get a potential difference maker? That's an enormous victory.

Lindberg no points, but he is a very cerebral player and always on the backcheck. Not saying Datsyukian lite, but he plays a lot like a skilled 2-way center. Overall impressed with his play in the 15 minutes I watched thus far.

Most impressed with #45 for SAIK. I believe it's Oscar Moller. He's an animal out there.

Lindberg reminds me of a little smaller JT Miller who is a bit more refined. I am sure the Rangers staff is salivating at he though of getting him over to the US.

Skelleftea going to OT.

Oscar Moller rang it off the goal post with a dozen seconds to go. Such a fun player to watch.

Holmstrom, Lundqvist, Datsyuk and Zetterberg, Jonathan Ericsson, Dan McGillis all picked after round 6

Yes.... I believe they would be part of that 1% group. Don't know what you're really trying to say here.

English is taught in most Scandinavians schools from a very early age, so I imagine so. I can't really think of any players from that area who have come over here and not been at least passable in English.

At our school we studied English at the age of 10, and some of my friends started at the age of 9 at their schools. I guess Fasth speaks it pretty good.

NCAA Tournament starts today. Minnesota is on at 2 EST, on ESPNU. Skjei is confirmed in the line-up.
