Boyle + 2nd for Clowe. Those lines are nice.

Clowe is younger and better than Morrow. The Sharks are asking the moon for him.

There is no proof that J.Morrow fell out of favor in Pittsburgh, we can speculate and all. I guess Kreider has fallen out of the favor here too? Perhaps Sather will trade him for Clowe.

Which Clowe are you willing to trade those assets for? The guy who has been struggling all season and has a bum shoulder?
Why is Clowe worth a 1st, 2nd and prospect, when did he change his name to Iginla?

doesnt mean sather is going to pay out the ass, which he never does, for a guy thats seemingly lost it this season.

lets call a spade a spade here and realize this team is a fringe cup contender at best this season purely based on the potential of our top 6 (which they have not played too) and strong defense, the last thing we need to do is trade another first, second, and a top prospect for a second liner.

i dont think theres any way in hell sather trades yet another 1st for anything short of a bonified top line player, our prospect pool is good but not great.

Honestly, as always it comes down to what we give up and what we get back. At anything close to the rumored price? I want no piece of him. Boyle and McColgan? Sure.
McColgan actually makes some sense...if I recall correctly, he's from SoCal. Don't know if McColgan can be described as a top prospect, however. Could live with a second and McColgan...

Clowe has been better for a while now, with the exception of this shortened season. A smart GM like Doug Wilson will sell him at that face value.

if the Rangers traded for Clowe his 72 PIM would lead and the next would be Rick Nash with 24

If this team could just get 3 goals a game with having the best goalie in the world behind them, they would def be a cup contender.

Face-off, PK, locker room chemistry. I think he adds more than can be replaced so easily, I think offense being spread out helps this team a lot, a solution may be half internal in Miller being in the middle and Kreider living up to the preseason hype. Lots will be fixed with Staal coming back, so I feel the Rangers can be up there with class of the east provided another top 4 D on the Right side gets added, with some grit up front, and that doesn't have to be expensive top tier players.

I don't want him at all. He's finished. But alas people are memorized by size and grit.

To what dumb GM? You compared stats from different years and want to sell him according to old production.

You know, interesting you mention him. BBKers did hint that he had heard MZA was coming over soon, but not necessarily to play for the Rangers...

He's got a ton of skill, is still young, but doesn't really fit our team. If we trade him, they get his RFA rights. Depending on SJ's view of him, he could absolutely be a key piece going the other way. Hmmm....

Never?? Look at the assets he unloaded to get Nash. I know it's Rick Nash, but...

Well it looks like GM Doug Wilson is selling him as if he isn't having a rough stretch. Bob McKenzie said multiple GMs/Scouts think Clowe will start hitting his career averages with a change in scenery. Sather and Gorton probably are the ones that think so.

that wasnt an overpayment by any means, and he didnt just throw them what they wanted at the deadline last season which included guys like stepan and del zotto, hes not going to give the sharks exactly what they want either.

First line should never change again. Shouldn't have changed in the first place.
If the 4th line plays like it did last night I wouldn't touch it.
1st line : 62/21/61
4th line : 14/28/45

It's what you do with 2/3 from here on in.

19, 24, 22, 20, 47, 10. <-- 3 Natural Centers, 2RW, 1LW. Liked Boyle on the RW last night. ALOT! But can he be consistent? In addition of all of these line combos has Miller ever Centered Gaborik when Gabby wasn't on the LW?

And that's great but you better believe it that the Rangers will negotiate to lower the price.

How about swapping in MZA for St. Croix?
