Well, I for one am still hoping the Pens pull Iginla off. I know we got some good talent in the making, but Iggy has been one of my favorite players for years and our top two lines would be absolute beast with him on the wing.

And after all that he'd probably get a career ending injury in his first game here with the Pens injury luck.

I think Iginla's scratch is about driving his price up more than anything else. It seems like a scare tactic to Boston that they either include Subban/1st/etc or he'll move on. And possibly as soon as in tonight (though I doubt that).

I wouldn't consider it a missed game if he played tomorrow for someone else. Doubt it though.

You may be on to something...

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 45m

So it comes as no surprise that BOS and CGY are deep in talks - that's been a given - but CGY may be using BOS offer to leverage PIT/CHI/LA.

Does this feel like Jagr watch all over again or what?

That sucks if i was the Flames organization i would start him and have him come right off the ice to keep the streak going.

I'm sure it is, this was mentioned in the previous thread.

Best player on the block, yes...very much so.

If Iggy is coming back, I want TK gone. TK + Jeffrey + Blueger + 1st could work.

Bennett is better than the entire package (for the Pens) the Bruins are giving up.

I think Iginla will be announced to the Bruins after this game. My bet is the only hold up from it being announced is this game.

truly a shame. i understand protecting him from injury, but there should be some mechanism in place whereby they can preserve his streak.

I have no clue if it actually works this way, but if I'm Shero, I'm driving up the price on Iginla so high that it exhausts Boston's potential to make any more significant deals. I think everyone outside of Boston knows they are desperate for Iginla, I think they are scared to death of Pittsburgh acquiring him.

Drive it up Ray, then acquire Glenncross.

In my opinion - he's going to Bruins. Bruins went to fight the Pens pick ups.

I really hate to do this, but...if Shero does whiff on Iginla, could Jagr legitimately be in play??

Yeah but Boston as their guys as well. Deal already agreed on. It will be Koko, Bartkowski, 1st round, and probably another top prospect nobody is expecting...IMO. People think it will just be the first 3 but I don't see it...because Shero would have gotten Iginla before morrow if that was the case. Bruins didn't land morrow...so went all in for Iginla. He's a bruin

Not pickups. But Crosby and Malkin. Iggy at least gives them a true star player. If they do this it is more about Crosby and Malkin than Morrow and Murray.
