Dumont is making 0$ in salary at the moment. Just a technicality, but still.

That's 8 to 6 for Samsonov for the categories you have listed there. But you left out things like Bread Buttering, Bed Making, Shoelace Tying, and Table Manners. Dumont looks like one proper muthaeffin dude.

He's been compared to Mother Theresa by his agent. Not a joke.

But you forgot.

Dumont speaks french, does Samsonov????
because as we all know, speaking french is THE MOST important thing in Quebec. It does not matter if you can score, hit, become Habs captain, get cancer, get your eye smashed, give your time to the unfortunate of Montreal, and bust your behind game in and game out.
If you cant speak french your just not good enough.

So true Dumont is not even close. I am happy we have Sammy and would not trade his sport in the roster for Dumont.

Anyway when media talk about dumont they put all the emphasist on "He's french". It seems his only "assets". They're ready to trade all the team everywhere to let him a spot.

Wouldn't be bad to have more french players. We had 12 or 13 french players in 1993 when we won the Cup. Dumont would be great, but there's just no room. I'd love it if they could get him somehow though. I like Dumont's competitiveness. He would bust his tail for us.

And I agree with RTL. There's no room unless someone goes. And the guy that'd have to be Ribeiro, and that would shift Higgins to center.

I thought Samsonov does speak French?

Either way, Samsonov is light years ahead of Dumont.

I wonder what those arbitrator decisions that are rejected by the teams do for the market?

Because there's no way he gets that much money as a UFA NOW. I don't if he would have been UFA when the market opened and the gold rush was on, but now man the teams are filled up.

They want to bring more french guy every months but they dont stop bashing on them! We CAN'T have a french star if he doesnt hit everything everytime. They want Vonny Lecavalier but he isnt have a good constency so... it sure if he doesnt score for 2 games he's dead.

French guy can be like more then everyother player but... can but dislike more then any other player too and it makes me sick. So I take the best player available for the team and I dont care about height weight birth place etc...
The Carbonneau thing was a joke. So was trading Claude Lemieux and Patrick Roy and John Leclair and Chris Chelios and and and. That was Serge Savard and Ronald Corey. Those morons are finished.

Trading Brisebois was long overdue. Giving him a 16m contract was not right. Theodore did not get a fair chance though. I think he was hurt. We shall see in the future. He does have a weak glove tho. Even Rafael knew that.

As for the question in the thread:

I think Samsonov is a playmaker and Dumont is a scorer. I would like to have them both on the same line actually.

There are going to be some guys left out in the cold for sure...these will be the guys that think they should be making 2.5-3.0M but teams will only be offering 750k-1M because that is all the room they have, and some of these guys are going to have to take it or go to Europe or retire...
