Show me some "3rd line" players that have averaged 54 points/season over the last 4 seasons please.

Why? That team needs a rebuild in the worst possible way. They weren't winning anything, with or without Iginla. It's best to move on.

I dunno, if he heads out West it immediately makes the Bruins easier to play against

It's something I guess but let's be honest here, there isn't a guaranteed top line/pairing player in that deal....for the Franchises greatest player. Not much of a start to a rebuild.

But whatever, it's not my team.

That's a good point. From that POV I totally agree. But If it's for Whitney + MPS + 1st like the rumor is saying, Sather better get on that. I'd give anything for him.

I know it's probably BS but still.

What do you think the Rangers should trade for Clowe?

I've watched plenty of Sharks games this year and the guy is clearly playing through injuries to try and help his team. Like Gaborik in the playoffs last year, I'm not going to criticize a guy for playing through it to try and help his team. I've done it for my teams and I know how hard it can be.

Clowe, healthy, is a top six forward if you're paying attention.

so you would give up a 1st and top prospect for a guy who's battling injuries, not as good as he once was, and a rental?

Already said previously, Boyle and a 2nd. Maybe another prospect.

That being said, if I'm San Jose, there's no way I make that deal. They are right to be looking for a 1st+. The guy is 29 years old.

Dreger saying the Rangers have targeted Boyle, and have been for quite awhile.

LOL. WHAT? I *LOVE* Jagr, but there's no way in hell I give that up for him (or Clowe) on an expiring contract or for a 41 year old.

2nd + Boyle would be something I can live with.
