The conditional first is a real sticking/breaking point. I can timagine if Iggy doesn't re-sign there. Lol

Too little, too late. Time to suffer Flamers.

If that is all that the flames can get for Iggy, what will we get for Whitney and Hemsky.

If that is the deal, why on earth wouldn't Feaster wait until closer to the deadline to see if the price would go up? FFS.

Hm, lemme guess? The same thing that has eluded a lot of players over the past ten years. It's been a long, long, long, long, long, long, long time since a Canadian team last won it all. Canadian teams don't even have a proper benchmark for success anymore.

Or: all of those players are themselves draft picks. First rounders, at that.

Edit: except Alfie.

You (and the person who answered before you) are correct. Most of them haven't even been to the Finals. And none of them more than once.

Nosebleeds. They tarped them before 2004 lowering their capacity and claiming a sellout at around 17,100. How long until Calgarians jump off the Flames bandwagon again? Maybe Atlanta deserves another shot.

The value isn't super different, and consider the players in question, with out a doubt a bad trade for Calgary.

This made me laugh so hard I had to quote it here:

Could you imagine if Colorado decided not to match and Iginla not re-signing in Boston on top of that?

Just awful return. Smyth was for 3 first rounders. Lowe made out like a bandit...

My guess is Nilsson puts up more points than all 3 assets over their careers. 118 NHL points over/under

Lol. Feaster is a mess. First, he made an offer sheet for a player that had to pass through waivers and now gets a conditional first round pick? Are you serious? I'm starting to pity their fans.

It sucks but you're going to get less value when a player has a NTC and hands you a list of 5 teams and half of them are in the Western Conference where you don't want to deal Iginla.

Boston knew Calgarys hands were tied and took advantage of it, I think it's a weak return and the conditional first is baffling. How didn't they get a guaranteed pick from this deal at least?

Sucks to have your hands tied by a NTC... Calgary is going to experience this a lot during their rebuild. Most of their high return players have NTCs and will dictate where they want to go lowering their value like Iginla.

Feaster did such a bad job with this one he's actually making me start to appreciate Tambo.

If he doesn't re-sign, San Jose got more for Douglas Murray...a healthy scratch #7 Dman. We may not have the worst GM in the league after all.

Don't. Since 2006 we've taken a lot of crap with most of it coming from calgary. They laughed at us the most and the loudest. They deserve everything they get.
