Iginla to the Pens for two guys I've never heard of and what will likely be a very late first in 2013. I can't believe Stan couldn't top this...I guess with a NTC clause, however, it was Iginla's call. Maybe he wanted to go to Pitt all along and the rest just gave the other teams an illusion of possibly trading for him.

I cannot and will not ever feel bad for Boston sports. I'm glad they've been screwed out of Iggy and Morrow.

I GOT IT!!

Ok, our only way to reset the balance in the hockey world is to acquire the only man who can break the Penguins and restore vengeful irony for the Blackhawks: Jagr.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the running total so far for the Pens is:

- A First
- A Second (and a conditional second)
- A Fifth
- Three "B" Prospects

For:
- Iggy
- Morrow
- Murray
- and a third.

Sweet Jesus. Malkin's next contract is going to be UGLY cap wise, I can see the hit being north of 9 easily. Looking ahead with ~ 18 mill spent on two players plus cleaning out the cupboard like this.........

The cap better shoot up and shoot up quick if you are a Pens fan.

Apparently a few offers were practically identical and Iginla basically chose Pittsburgh.

If we wanted Iggy, the guy we should really go after for a rental is Jagr.

Please. Dallas is probably going to give him to the Penguins as well.

I'm sure Gary is giving Feaster a pat on the back for ensuring Pittsburgh will be in the Cup Finals. Good for tv interest definitely more than boring teams like LA and NYR even if they are big markets.

I want to Oilers to give us Gagner. If he is good enough, we pay and keep him and trade Bolland. If we are not happy with him, we keep Bolland and trade Gagner who will be a RFA or get the offer sheet that would send at least a 1st + 3rd to us.

Is there any way Ribeiro is still available? He'd be perfect on the second, and could be a playmaker, freeing up the God mode line (81-19-88) and the second could be 10-Ribs-20. That lineup would kill.

88 and 81 are RWs and both prefer to play on the right side which is why the rarely play together at even strength. Likewise 10 and 20 are LWs. So the Ribiero options would be:

20-19-81
10-Ribiero-88

or

10-19-81
20-Ribiero-88

or

10-19-88
20-Ribiero-81

or

20-19-88
10-Ribiero-81

If you get MR, he plays with Kane. It'd be a line oozing with skill.

Sorry if this is dumb, but is Teuvo Teravainen on the table at all? or McNeill? Something along the lines of Jagr and Roy? Picks involved?

I am simply sick to my stomach right now! Living near Pittsburgh all my life and having their fans rub it in my face over the year....Shero is a go for it type GM but I NEVER thought they'd pull this one off after they got Morrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are the odds on favorites by miles at this point....God what a lousy stat to the day...........

Just give the ****ing cup to the Pens already. Pitt basically gave up nothing in this deal. In fact, Boston's proposed deal was way better than this one.

Poor Bowman. Bowman seems to be getting trolled on some of these deals. Calgary to Chicago: "Seabrook, Saad, or TT + a 1st round pick for Iginla." Bowman: "No thanks." Calgary: "Alright, lets ship him off to Pitt for crap!"

Shero wins GM of the year. Pitt wins the Cup.

Last time I checked Pit still hasn't addressed their biggest issue and that's lack of D and G. They gave up boat loads of goals in last years PO and Douglas Murrary isn't solving that on his own. Sure they will be a good team but to hand the Cup to the Pens already is a goofy. This isn't he NBA where things are foregone conclusions before they happen. The Pens could win the Cup. They could run into a Rangers team in the first round who gets their act together, beats them up and Lundy steals the show. Anything is possible, it's what makes hockey so great.

Feaster said that the list of 4 teams was accurate that Iginla would accept a trade to and that he was in negotiations with 3 of them (Pitt, Boston, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand LA Kings).

I guess the price was just to rich for Bo, right guys!????????

And if they win the Cup this year no one will care. Similar to the Hawks of 2010 and also similar to the Hawks they will off-load role players and keep Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Neal etc. and keep themselves in contention for many more year.

Meh, Pens D isn't that much worse than ours and their goalies are much better than ours.

Shero's a genius, he will make it work somehow. Dude completely fleeced those GMs on the Iginla and Neal trades.
