Get a defenseman and a third line winger. Adding those two pieces and we are the best team in the league. Pittsburgh still has a porous defense and a headcase for a goaltender who has won one playoff series since 2009.

It's a crappy night with a ****** loss then this whole Iginla mess. Go sleep it off.

When we wake up in the morning, it's still gonna be a competitive team.

Plus.....that proposal is the farthest thing from even.
For starters his pillow cases say "property of state hospital".

He'll be ok. Tomorrow is jello day. Few puzzles in the day room, he'll be fine.

Shero is all in. He can see the future and knows he has a day of reckoning with the salary cap.

A Cup is worth it though. If I'm a Penguin fan I am pretty pleased with my GM's committment to winning and winning now. The players on that roster have too feel pretty good as well.

He's added a third line winger, a top line winger and a decent bottom pair defenseman without giving up anything off his roster.

Hell, it can be argued he gave up more for Morrow than he did for Iginla.....let THAT sink in.

Chiarelli had all his eggs in the Iginla basket. He's going to go shopping in the scrap heap now and it's going to be a lost season.

I'm pissed at Chiarelli but he is not vacant. He's a shrewd guy. He knows this team is incomplete.

Honestly, all that's available is the scrap heap. Iginla was the only difference maker out there, that's why his eggs were in that basket. I'd support doing minor moves as opposed to giving up a similar package that we were going to give up for Iginla for some mediocre rental like Ryane Clowe.

Take a big run at Martin St. Louis, and if he's off the table like I fully expect him to be, don't do anything huge or stupid. Wait for the next Iginla situation (Bobby Ryan in the off-season, anyone?) to arise and keep pieces to trade for them.

It shocks me that people are calling for Clowe, the dude is pure garbage.

Our only hope at this point is that Yeti pans out.

At this point unless we get something big, I'd rather keep our first round pick

Supposed to be a deep draft, and our prospect pool really isn't that good

As someone who spends way too much time looking at game film and hopping over to the prospects board, this is 100 percent factual. However the draft has a good chance of being top heavy. Like the to 25 some odd picks are good and then it just tapers off.

I mean, whenever you can get an elite goal scorer like Ryan Clowe you have to do it

hahha not that so much. What I'm basically saying is it's going to have to be someone like the aforementioned Bobby Ryan's and MSL's, neither of which are feasible.

People who say Clowe is garbage do any of you watch him a lot? I don't but I know people who do and they would hate trading him away.

The only way this day can get any worse is if Koko sends out a press release stating he is heading back to the KHL for good to play for his Dad's team where he will be treated loyally as opposed to being put in trade offers. I'm half expecting that announcement to come down in the next 15 minutes.

What a ****** day.

His dad isn't GM anymore that's why he came back.

Going home to play backyard hockey with his Dad then.

Seriously though, anyone slightly concerned that a guy who has dabbled in the KHL before has now been in 2 trade rumors (whether you believe Haggs or not, and I don't, the rumor is out there for Koko to consider) in less than a week and this one went so far as us making him a healthy scratch because we believed the deal was done or getting done? I'm a bit worried about it.

No go with Clowe. I want Clarkson if they go that route.

Agree. Don't feel like he's the answer.

Thanks for the laugh.

Wouldn't surpise me at all. Chiarelli screwed the pooch big time. There was no reason to pull anyone until you got a damn signature.

Chiarelli has a LOT to answer for. He has ****ed many things up so far this year.
