Let's try breaking up the HSN line now that we have these options

How about Gaborik-Richards-Nash?

Torres for Pyatt
Orr for Asham and Wilson
Konopka/Scott for a 6th
Try to grab Carkner in a 3 way deal too
Miller goes down - kid is but 19...
Call up Big Mac

Fast/Kreider (see who works best) - Richards - Gaborik
Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
MZA - Boyle - Callahan
Orr - Konopka/Scott - Torres
Powe

Start the 4th line with Carkner/Big Mac on the backend
Welcome to NYC Sidney Crosby!

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
MZA-Miller-Callahan
Powe-Boyle-Asham

Hopefully, that is 3 lines that can score and a physical 4th line.

Probably not, his work visa has not been OK'ed yet.
He cannot even skate with the team until that is done.

Should probably leave him out of the line-up until after saturday. Wouldn't want him going into the line-up for the gong show that is MTL games

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Kreider - Richards - Callahan
MZA - Miller - Gaborik
Pyatt - Newbury - Asham
Press box: Boyle, Powe

I don't think Fasth is ready enough to throw right into the starting lineup and there are enough extra pieces that I think a trade has to be in the works. With the current available players, this is what I'd play to start out.

I'd play Kreider with miller and cally and put MZA with richards and gabby.

Richards and Cally just don't mesh well IMO.

I'm not really sure that Richards and Gaborik mesh well. Aside from some late season success last year paired with Hagelin, they really have done much together. I'd go with:

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Gaborik-Miller-Callahan
Kreider-Richards-MZA
Asham-Boyle-Powe

Bench Pyatt and Newbury. We need our fourth line to have multiple penalty killers with that top nine. I don't love Gaborik on the left side, but I also think it's time for him to put up or shut up. He's likely dealt at the draft if they don't move him at the deadline anyway. The wild card is obviously whether they decide to give Fast(h) a look or not. I'm excited to see how he looks in Hartford at the very least.

No two players have less chemistry than Ryan Callahan and Marian Gaborik.

Boyle hasn't done anything on the PK that Hagelin, Power, Cally, Stepan and even Miller can't or have not already. Boyle is literally a waste of a roster spot. Asham has played in not even half as many games and has been twice as productive. At least Pyatt has some sort of idea how to score.

Again, I believe we should keep the lines from the philly game together until we need to make a change. Keep the lineup the same and let them figure it out and change it around when players work their way into or out of the lineup. All of our top 3 lines were getting good chances last game and its a good balance of offense defense and grit on each line. On top of that, we have a "game breaker" on each line if they ever get going.

Hags-Stepan-Nash
Callahan-Miller-Gaborik
Kreider-Richards-Boyle
Asham-Newbury-Pyatt/Powe

Leave Fasth and MZA out for now and see if that lineup meshes.

As much as people around here hate Boyle, I think he's a good board presence for Richards and Kreider and opens up some space in the offensive zone as well as rounding out that line defensively. See Kreiders goal against Philly where Boyle drove to the net.

I'd like to see Zucc get a chance with Richie and Gabby. As for Boyle, in addition to everything else we can't stand about him he's managed to pile up a -7 +-; worst on the team. He has to outplay the other 4th line candidates to play, no 3rd line for him. If Fast is ready, his speed would definitely be welcome.

Miller hasn't been used to kill penalties and Torts isn't going to try him there this year.

Pyatt hasn't registered a point since February 26 and has one point in his last 24 games. He's slow, useless offensively, doesn't take faceoffs, and doesn't kill penalties. If you were trying to invent the perfect useless player from scratch, you would come up with something roughly resembling Pyatt.

Boyle as a fourth line center makes perfect sense. He's good in his own zone and great at winning draws. You need five or six penalty killers in a lineup. Stepan, Callahan, Hagelin, Boyle, and Powe make five. Nash can kill penalties in an emergency, but it's not a good idea to pour heavy pk minutes on him. With Halpern gone, Boyle needs to play.

Honestly, if I had the choice between Miller and Boyle to pk, I take Boyle 9 times out of 10

And I really do not consider myself a Brian Boyle fan in the slightest

If he's solid in the SEL, I think he's ready to take on 3rd line responsibilities.

No. Bigger rink size, game is played in a very different way, amongst other things. He needs to spend the remainder of the season in the AHL before he's ready for the big leagues. Don't want to mess up this kid's development.

I understand that but could you imagine that line in the d zone?? Not to mention Gabby and Richie haven't played well together so far this year. As of now they need a physical presence on their line. Unfortunately no one else does that.

Gaborik Richards Nash was HORRIBLE defensively and Nash is a pretty big guy, imagine just replacing him with Zucc? [eye stabby guy]

No, he has joined the team in Ottawa, and there's even a chance he'll play tonight. The Rangers can fix a working permit in no time, according to his agent.
