This is what I was trying to tell Stick yesterday. Once Feaster had gone that far, he was not going to not deal Iginla somewhere. Unfortunately, Feaster was the one over the barrel, not Chia. Feel bad for Flames fans, just an awful return, and obviously PIT knew that they were the only place Iginla would OK, otherwise the offer would have been much better.

What? Ummm....no.

Talk about a complete and utter overreaction.

I want no part of Clowe, expect we can get him for a 2nd rounder. Anything else will be a huge overpayment.

One good thing about the deal, Chia should use this to drive down prices

St. Louis is better than Iginla, so if he is available I'd make a push for him, Jagr I think would be fine as well. However, guys like Hemsky, Clowe and Whitney aren't worth the assets we'd give up to get them.

To be honest, i don't remember a player putting a team on a trade list and refuse to go there when a deal was made. Iginla had the right to say "NO" but, in that case, he shouldn't have put Boston on the list.

The list was obviously BS. It should have read:

PIT
(Maybe CHI?)

BOS
LA

I fel bad for Feaster. You could tell by the way he chose his words in the press conference, he wasn't happy. Guessing that both the B's and the other team's (LA?) deals were better than that sh** package that PIT put forward?

At this point, just call it a day and trade for a 3rd line LW. Boston is gonna have to win this thing the hard way, and I'd prefer that.

Then something happened and my take is Sydney Crosby spoke to Shero about this and an extending him. In the bag - the theory you don't break up till you got a replacement. They as in Pit got to Iggy

Just we we need, a guy who can't score. The Bruins need a guy like Jagr.

It looks like Feaster played the media last night to try and get more out of Pittsburgh. Didn't seem to work however.

If your a goal scorer like Iginla what would you choose?

Play with Crosby or the play the Clode defense style?

Not a hard choice really .....

Issue is the fact that he has term left on his contract. You'd have to let Horton and Ference walk to fit him in next year.

Not saying I wouldn't

Rebuilding? Seriously?

This team is 21-7-4 and you want to blow it up? They certainly aren't playing well right now but the complete overreaction of some of you guys right now is utterly confounding.

The Bruins need help in the defensive zone. No puck movement, bad turnovers no getting it out of the zone, poor back checking, leaving Rask helpless, etc. Seems like Seidenberg, Ference and even Chara to some extent have forgotten how to play D.

Funny, despite his scoring woes I think Ryane Clowe is exactly what we need. This team appears to have lost it's identity this year; not sure why; but we need another physical presence in the line-up to bring that out.

I'll reserve my opinion on it all until next week when it all shakes out.

The way Horton and especially Ference are playing right now, is that a bad thing?

Screw Iginla. How about we go after Corey Perry.

I'm glad the trade didn't go down to the wire.

We still have time to do something...

Anaheim is a SC contender.

Perry isn't going anywhere.

I think they will both be gone next year anyway. I have alwys liked Ference but his time to go maybe now, another bad game last night. His good ones this year are few and far between.
If there is a chance that the B's could get MSL I would like to see it, doubt it happens though.

The Bruins don't need anyone. They need a reboot and some confidence.

The problem isn't talent it's consistency.

If they can be the team that showed up in the second period last night, they have as good a chance as anyone.

Hard to blame him but... this sucks. Penguins got him for essentially nothing. On the plus side, Iginla is a pure rental for them. No way he re-signs there after the season. But still.. I'm really sour on Iginla right now. I'm sour on the whole thing.
I think it's more than obvious that the Penguins are a superior team right now. If I were Iginla, I'd have made the same choice.

Seriously. Rebuilding by selling off a bunch of 25 year olds as well. What a brilliant strategy, LMAO.

The idiocy really comes out in full force when something bad happens to the Bruins. It's like people lose all grip with reality and can't think with any rationality at all. I get being frustrated, I wanted Iggy as bad as anyone, but do we have to make this place unreadable with knee jerk, flat out insane posts? Christ...

It's sad that you point to a specific period and say that if only they play like this, all will be well. You can't even point to a specific game with this group right now. Just a period or two over their last month or so. They need a good shake up to get them out of this malaise.
