This will be the second straight season where all Atlantic teams sans Pittsburgh join forces.

If Jay Feaster isn't fired, my god.
This. Oh god, this.

If there is one franchise and group of fans that deserve less than nothing, it's Pittsburgh. Someone needs to rip that golden horseshoe out of Mario's *%*$.

If the Rangers finish in 8th this season and somehow beat the Pens in a 7 game series, I can die a happy man.

**** the Pens and **** Feaster.

I just hope we can jump up to 7th and avoid them. A first round exit would be amazing. Choke PIT Choke!

I wish nothing but misfortune on this Penguins franchise. I would absolutely love to see them fail.

Awards:
No team is unbeatable. Pittsburgh is stacked, but that's why they play the game.

Remember the thread on the main board before the season titled, "Are the Rangers unstoppable?" or something to that effect? And we're fighting it out just to make the playoffs. Obviously Pitt is better put-together than we are, but the point remains--you can't assume wins and losses.

MAF still blows. I'm fairly confident a powerhouse in the West could take them on. Hell, if the hockey gods suddenly stopped forsaking us and Hank was on fire I'd say we could take them too if Stepan-Nash and Richie and Gabs were going strong.

This is how I feel. I don't fear those ****s.

I would love nothing more than to beat them straight up. They choked last year, and they can easily do the same this year.

The deadline is still a week away. Even with the Morrow + Murray additions I liked Boston's roster over Pitt's. I also think Montreal would give Pitt some trouble with their speed and skill. We will see what other teams do. Lot's of players are still available.

No team will beat the Pens. Might as well give them the Cup now.

How can the Pens not be anyone's most hated franchise?

At least we get all of Canada to be cheering for Cindy and Iggy!

Fun!

So, hate the Pens because they got Iginla ? I wish we have a GM like Ray Shero.

This.

So much, this.

I was thinking the same thing last night. If the Rangers drew Penguins in round 1 and knocked them out...that would be surreal.

Personally, I say bring it on. I don't want my team to tip toe their way to a cup getting the favorable match ups - I want to see my team take on whoever they can and spit in the face of uncertainty! /speech

People are swooning over the names of the players being brought in to Pitt. Morrow is old and breaking down. Murray was barely playing in SJ and is VERY slow at this point in his career. Iginla is old and slowing down as well.

Not seeing some earth-shattering move here.

No. Hate the Pens because they would have folded long ago in 2005 had Mario not whined like a little girl to Bettman and gotten Cindy on a silver platter.

How about the unprecedented tanking? MAF, Malkin, Cindy, Staal. Building though the draft, my ass.

Or maybe we should focus in the diving and whining that their stars do when things don't go their way? And the league's reward of that behavior afterwards. Malkin tomahawks Staal? That's OK! Crosby slewfoots everyone? Well, that's an OK as well!

Their "fans" don't deserve anything, save for a collapse of their pathetic franchise.

But the problem is that they, the Pens, were already very good before these trades. And, they only got better.

How much better? They are riding high right now. They did the same thing last year during the season. They looked unstoppable. First round came and they were bounced.

Still a week to the deadline and there are teams that will give them problems still available. Chicago will make moves. So will LA. So will Boston. So will Montreal. So will the Rangers.

Iginla is 36. Morrow is shell of himself. Murray is old and was buried in SJ. Tell me, where is this HUGE addition?

Make no mistake, though: Pittsburgh is the de facto cup contender. On the surface, these appear to be good moves that improve the Penguins - and, let's face it, that's most likely true.

That said, these are 34, 34, and 35 year old players, though. Iginla has 9 goals this season, Morrow has 6, Murray isn't what he once was. He might be the slowest player in the league.

What Pittsburgh gained in grit and leadership, they lost in speed. The Pens game has slowed down, and slowing down games isn't what has gotten Pittsburgh wins over the past few years. Maybe that's the key to some newfound success for them, though.

You really can't judge these moves correctly as of yet, however. Down the stretch and into the playoffs is when these deals will show whether they were beneficial to the Penguins or not.

This. Screw Iggy, screw Morrow, and screw the Pittsburgh tank crew. MAF sucks and a hot team will expose him.
