RDS Question

ok, So I'm planning to get RDS for the upcoming season so I can get all 82 hab games on the West Coast.

Problem is that I will miss a good chunk of the games with my schedule.

My question is, does RDS playback the hab games... like after midnight or something (pacific time)

Yep, alot of teh games are played back like 3 hours later, not all of em, but it happens quite a bit.

Last season they played a condensed version of the games around 11 pm on weeknights. The whole game in an hour, it's pretty cool. The show is called Canadiens Express.

Most of time, they playback games the day after during after noon... maybe Canadiens-Express will be back this year.. its like at 11 ( i know its not after midnight but.. )

RDS plays back all weeknight games at 11pm. They are condensed in a 1 hour show (they basically eliminate all the time between whistles).

(haha....just noticed 4-5 people answered the same thing)

yes at 11pm east time you get a Canadiens express they show the game in 1 hour.Just the most important highlights

They have a show called Canadiens-Express which replays the game in a compressed way in an hour (Keeping only the most important highlights). I don't think they playback the games though.

Canadiens-Express is either at 11PM or midnight on week days.

is the canadiens express package well done? Do they do a good editing job so we dont lose the feel for the game?

oh, and are you guys saying that is 11pm eastern time or pacific time?

it's not like the full game but I found it to be very well done. You still "feel" the game.

I don't know about this year, but last year they replayed the WHOLE game the day after around 12 pm I believe..

I think it might be on again during the next morning but I'm not 100% sure.

As far as I know, they don't show the entire game again that night anymore. Not since they came up with Canadiens Express. And I'm also pretty sure Canadiens Express is only on once per game.

But its great. Or do what I do, and get a PVR/DVR for ur satelite. It's well worth it.

yes. they show the game the morning of the day after at around 10 am ET (time to be confirmed).

They usually playback the games at 2h30 am EST.

Canadiens Express is shown more than once. I think it is replayed during the night and the following morning.

I'm getting conflicting reports here.

Anyways, I want to hold off on a PVR until I move into our new house which is still needs to be built. It will prolly be done in a year or so.

I'm just looking for a short term solution right now.

Can the standard digital box/reciever tell the VCR to tape the games once you you hook it up to the VCR?

Nope...you gota program your VCR to record at a specific time but it will record what ever chanel is selected on the the digital box at the time(unless you can get RDS on basic cable). And once the recording is started what ever you do on the digital box will be recorded on the VCR.

Anyway it's still to early to tell what RDS's policy will be next year. They change from year to year the way and time they replay the games.
