I've also seen enough stuff filmed locally (Psych, Supernatural, Smallville, Arrow, basically everything else the CW airs)

What, you weren't a fan of Iguanasaurus?

I'm cautiously optimistic of them getting it right this time given how incredibly sideways the last one went.

Plus they've gone and done some solid work on the casting so far (Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, and now apparently Ken Watanabe too).

As long as they make Godzilla more of a force of nature and less of whatever the hell he was in the other movie, they should be fine.

I wish they'd release the teaser from comic con already. It sounded completely kickass.

This one is for Berto and any others out there that are into Electronic Dance Music. This weekend there's a HUGE music festival going on in Miami(Ultra Music Festival). They are streaming it live for free on Youtube as well as on XM( Electric Area) and for free on www.di.fm(they have 3 channels under UMF Radio).

Youtube Link: http://www.youtube.com/umftv

Who's on today:

From watching last weekend, these times are arbitrary and may be subject to change. Also speaking of last weekend, you can download the DJ Sets at a couple of different websites
Torrents: http://www.tribalmixes.com/search/ultra+music+festival
If you don't do torrents: http://mixing.dj/2013/livesets/umf-2...ad-collection/
Streaming(will need an account): http://soundcloud.com/djmixes-livesets

I have no doubt that all performances from this coming weekend will show up on these sites as well. In case you guys are wondering how big this festival is...

Main Stage this year:

First there was "Pitch Black". Then there was "The Chronicles of Riddick".

And now the final part of the triology? (Or is it a prequel?)

Looks like a piece of my childhood is returning.

I rented that game from the local Blockbuster so many times. Ahh, the good old days when Capcom made awesome games on a regular basis.

Don't you hate it when they cut your hair too short? And your hair always looks longer there until you get home and take a shower? God dammit. My beautiful seductive curls are gone; I don't deserve to sport that avatar no more...

the Godzilla reboot is apparently going to have some sort of role for original Godzilla actor Akira Takarada (he played sort-of-protagonist Ogata in the 1954 original)

Awesome.

Nice find on the Godzilla news, Nem.

Anyone else use their smartphone a lot when checking this site? I just updated my iPhone a day ago and noticed that all the main page functions have been removed. I'm really missing the page numbers that I could click on because the only way to scroll through a thread now is by clicking 'next page' every...single...time....
I also lost the 'go advanced' button and all the hyperlinks at the top which was a great site map, so to speak..

In gaming news, Bioshock Infinite is really good. Really recaptures the awesome feel of the first Bioshock by keeping the same tone in a totally different but equally impressive environment. Really enjoying it.

Also, XCOM is like distilled crack, good lord. Came free with Bioshock and omg is it addictive.

Apparently he's just got a short cameo for the beginning of the movie, meant to "symbolically link the new film to the classic ones"

So it's not like he's going to be in the film in a significant fashion, but it's still awesome.

That's what I've been hearing about Bioshock Infinite so far. Hows the whole skyhook working out? It looks pretty rad but it seems like it'd be something that was either way too broken or dumb.

Also METAL GEAR SOLID V IS GROUND ZEROES AND THE PHANTOM PAIN ALL IN ONE! It has fire space whales and fire horses getting shot at by Big Boss. Already gonna be GOTY when it comes out.

I need to buy/build a new computer so I can get Bioshock Infinite, it looks and sounds so awesome.

I assume you're referring to the new XCOM, but both the original and this one (which did a surprisingly good job of keeping true to the original) were really good. I should go back and replay it...

Riding the skyhook works fine, its fun. Now, mauling people with it is a whole nother story. You can turn it on and grind someones face with it, his bioshock is FAR more gory than the past ones.

Yah the new one. I don't even like turn based games usually, this game is ridiculous.

Aww, I was hoping for an extended role. But hey, at least they're throwing us Gojira fans a bone.

Yeah, I was hoping he'd have more to do as well. But the fact that he's being included brings faint hope for other fun winks and nods and cameos to old school movies. There aren't many other actors who could come back that would make a lot of sense though. Takarada was the only one who appeared in a bunch of the movies (as a different character each time), and the other two leads from the first movie (the ones who played Dr. Serizawa and Emiko) both passed away 20+ years ago. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Kumi Mizuno (she was in 4 movies in the series)
