I would rather just have bourque back

thing is, we only have ONE game left against them the reg. season...

Even if they were willing to overpay it would be dumb, he is the type of player we need MORE of not LESS.

Just because we're not a big buyers doesn't mean we should sell.

Thank god we will face the Bruins one last time and then we will never face a team that will want to abuse our smallish players....

Why is that? He had a setback, they are being cautious. Savard had a history of concussions. According to tsn.ca (take it for what it's worth) this is Bourque first NHL concussion. Savard had a concussion in 2001, 2002, 2004 and than in 2010. After that he tried to come back but it was impossible.

I wanted Giontas salary off the books for a chance at Perry, so now that this is no longer a possibility, I guess he could stay. I still believe Jagr could help this team win.

You're being dishonest. Let's not act like Moen was a worthless player for us since we acquired him. Are you drinking Gaston Therrien's kool-aid?

Because Bourque doesn't have an history of concussion? You know when the Flames traded him to us, their doctors told them he was one concussion away from retirement....

For a chance at Perry? WHy would the Ducks trade him now that he's signed with them? I'm not sure what's the logic here. I'd rather have Gionta then none of them...

Do you even watch the games? One year they get away with murder on our players and now we need useless heavy weights... Last night game was a good example of how to stay in a game. We were down 4-2 and we managed to come back. If we can find a scoring player with size, fine, but useless fighters are of no use to this team.

Source? His injury history mentions nothing of long periods of time missed due to concussion.

I was speaking in the passed tense. I would of wanted to get rid of Gionta for space, but it's no longer a viable option.

No I don't

I've always thought we lacked them, it's not because especially of Pacioretty.

Do you even watch the games? Last night Lucic, Horton, Chara etc etc were in a deep slumber and weren't playing physical.

Ok so I am not the only one completely dumbfounded by his comment. If anyone told me I was one concussion away from being a vegetable, I would stop putting myself in danger of getting another concussion.

Some posters should have this labeled to all their post:

Bourque himself said last week he has had a few concussions in his career and this one has been the most significant:

Ce n’était pas ma première commotion, j’en ai eu quelques-unes. Je dirais toutefois que cette dernière est la pire de ma carrière.

Moen is just inconsistent from year to year it seems. He's solid can fill in on 3rd line duties. Not the best fighter but can usually do no worse then a draw. Solid playoff performer.

Unless he can get us something of real value and/or a suitable replacement then he should stay. Next year he could have a year like last and he'll seem like a bargain. He's not hurting us.

I'm pretty sure he would have missed more than 10 or 12 games the last 4 years if he had a history of concussions. You're grasping at straws.

What? Can you formulate entire sentences? What about Pacioretty? You think he is afraid of Chara?

Lucic played such a physical game, he was so dominant...

Horton played ok, he scored a goal but he wasn't physical, Gallagher hits as much as him.

No one is denying the habs need a physical D man, but we don't need a useless fighter.

You continuously bring up pointless arguments...

Who has watched Clowe play a lot? Is he good at screening goalies
and tipping pucks, and such? And if so, is he doing that this year, and
just unlucky, or is he not playing his type of game.

Because if he gets to the net, and knows how to play there, I'd
give up a decent prospect for him. About a second round value, but I'd
prefer to trade a defense prospect because we're deep there. Someone
like Thrower or Bennett at most. Or maybe Pateryn or Ellis, but I think
they wouldn't be rated as highly.

If this isn't enough, I think we should give up on him.

Agree. Bourque Prust and a big stay at home d-man would help us a lot more against Boston than a 4th line goon that nobody would fight and would spend 57.5 minutes on the bench.

If we can get a 13th forward type enforcer on waivers(Sestito Kassian etc) I'd have no problem with that...but trading very good assets for Bissonnette is downright comical.
