Clock & I were just at the lawyers finalizing our will, living will and health care proxies. Yeah - that was a fun meeting.

My wife and I have willed all our money to a group of Tibetan monks in the Himalayas. We haven't told our daughter yet.

That's awesome.

Also, I have just scheduled a phone interview for Monday. Should be interesting.

Also took out another quarter mil in insurance in the last couple months.

Finally starting to hit me that I'm pretty much done with this job. Couple things to do this afternoon, and that's it. Tomorrow morning is turning in all my keys, turning off accounts, getting lunch, and done.

8 years.....

EDIT: Since I guess it's cool to say it now because people know, I'm heading to work at the Yahoo datacenter in Lockport.

So I had a job interview yesterday. It was something I feel I was qualified for, but when I got there I was quickly overwhelmed with the level of complexity. Even my interviewer acknowledged that.

I chalked it up to a nice opportunity to see something interesting and assumed I had no shot.

I got the job offer today to work for Astronics in East Aurora. I am still batting 1.000 at interviews.

Looks like I won't be able to host thanksgiving this year as I normally do. The baby is due the Sunday before thanksgiving.

Also reading the page reminds me I'll have to update all my legal stuff after the end of the year also.

I tried man. I really couldn't nail anything down in the Richmond area that didn't result in a size-able pay cut. That coupled with an increased cost of living was a little more than I could stomach.

I actually got this job because somebody found me on monster (when I was applying for stuff in VA) and asked me I was interested in something here. It's more money with basically unlimited opportunities for growth. So for now the plan is to go with this and then see where it takes me.

Heh. That's pretty much the reason I had to wait until I was 26 to leave and go somewhere else. The world gets expensive when you get into an actual city.

congrats on the new gig...
though I don't understand the bolded.

-where I live, my sales tax is 4.5%
-I have a house worth about $400K, and my property taxes are probably less than half what a house like this would be in WNY.
-I pay less in gas for my car than my brother in Marilla does.
-My homeowners insurance is very reasonable, as are my auto insurance rates.
-I pay for my kid's rent insurance for their apartments, which is about $100 each.

just wondering where it's cheaper...?

The city of Buffalo? I pay $250 a month for a nice neighborhood with everything I could ever want within 5 miles drive.

My rent in Richmond would've been $600+ a month. Figure that and a ~$300 a month paycut and I wouldn't feel comfortable.

Of course once december rolls around I'll probably be job hunting in VA again.

I may be sinking myself -- I'm supposed to be off all next week but I'm looking at the time off database and it didn't register when I put it in. Oh joy. It'll be a fun day tomorrow explaining this one.

And I'm working right now -- watching the game and starting in on some chimp work. Let's get ready to pro----vision!!!! Stupid AD.

Honestly Chain, get your medical stuff in the way, come back, and put in your two weeks. That job is killing you. Use any time off you get on recovery to polish the resume and get it out there.

Yep. That's the plan.

In other news, running class tonight, ran 0:15 seconds faster per mile over the same distance tonight. I've been cushy in my training -- the indoor track at the new YMCA by ECC North.
