Yep. Last time I was in town, my father and I stood at the ticket-taker podium with the card for like 2 minutes while she tried and tried to scan the damn thing. Meanwhile, all the single-game ticket holders were blowing past us and folks in line behind were getting all pissed off.

Ted FTW!

Man I swear I was going to post the same general observation. Just cheesy looking. I do use the caps mobile app at time and now they don't have all the after game videos there.

Yeah, noticed that. "Check out our new app that does less!"

Anybody have word on Erskine?

I hate the lack of information the NHL usually provides on injuries although I understand it.

John Erskine (upper body) could be back for Tuesday's contest.
Erskine has been on the shelf for a few weeks now but skated with the team this weekend. He's not expected to return Sunday, but his fantasy value is very limited in any case. Mar 31 - 11:48 AM

Awesome and thanks. Great news and this will shove one of Hillen or Schultz down the depth chart.

Much needed physical presence and intensity.

Are the articles here from a legit source?

http://alexovetjkin.blogspot.com/

As far as you know?

Specifically the Oates interview a little bit down the page.

That interview was linked by at least one of the Caps beat writers. It's legit. Malamud is also legit.

Hillen?

Whyen?

Does he have strong behind the scenes stats, and my eyes are deceiving me? Sure he is mobile George's <sargefree> calling card, but what are his other attributes again?

He gets eaten up on boards. Maybe we will move him to forward.

Alzner Erskine Hillen

A $700k cap hit for a guy who will be sitting in the pressbox most nights. What's the problem? Is there someone else you would prefer eating popcorn instead?

I have a feeling he got extended because he is a good character as much as his on ice performance.

Reward the brown nosers!

George going with the additive principle on defense: collect 12 ****ty ones and hope you end up with a competent unit.

Yeah...well..

Thats about all there is to say about Hillen. He's not awful and 700k isn't much at all.

Its really not even worth discussing this curious contract extension outside of what it means to the rest of the D.

We can safely say Hillen/Erskine/Green/Carlson/Alzner/Oleksy are going nowhere next year or the one after most likely.

That leaves Orlov/Kundratek/Schultz/Schmidt to fight over the remaining spot or two.

Hopefully this clearly means Schultz is out which would narrow it down to 3.

if orelsky is actually a legit player, then its another player mcphee has found out of nowhere...certainly not the first round. we always talk around here that mcphee is a waste after the first round and then forget all the players he seems to find like orelsky and schmidt

I'm no fan of GMGM but the list goes beyond that.

Halpern, Tikkanen, Bellows immediately spring to mind.

As much as I hate GMGM you have to give credit where credit is due.

Schilling must be regretting his decision to sign here. Now it looks like he's seventh on the LD depth chart. No idea why George would re-up Hillen, given that he's got guys like Orlov and Schilling in the minors and Schmidt coming in as a UFA. Not to mention he just re-upped Erskine, so he's not going anywhere. You can clear one spot by moving Schutlz, but that doesn't really solve the logjam.

No kidding on Schilling. He doesn't exactly have the wow type of game to open eyes, either.

Maybe he hasn't like Schilling's game this year and decided to upgrade his LD depth. Which we were and are drowning in.

Yeah, my only problem with him is failing to make a big trade or two over the years. We all see the weaknesses (and it takes two sides to agree) but sometimes nothing is done about them for years (e.g., 2C).
