More Valuable...Andrew Ference or Traffic Cone? You decide!

Hey, so after reading everything today and letting things sink in and assessing this roster I've come to the conclusion that Andrew Ference is pretty useless. Lets not kid ourselves, the guy has become a great 6th man for whoever is facing us. So I have decided to compare him with another object with limited mobility....a traffic cone. Now I know what most of you are thinking, of course the cone is more valuable! But lets give Ference a chance...

Tale of the Tape
Andrew Ference

5'11 189 lbs
age 34

Traffic Cone
'6 inches 5 lbs
age unknown

obviously in this setting we cannot determine the prospect status of the cone due to the non disclosure of age, however, Ference has shown every bit of his 34 years this season.

Result: Push

Pros

Andrew Ference
 1. 1) Asst Captain during away games
 2. 2) Is a body on the blue line
 3. 3) Fantastic at leading opposing defenders to the net
 4. 4) Once scored a career high 6 goals

Traffic Cone
 1. 1) Is a very useful tool to block off accidents
 2. 2) While its mostly Orange it has been known/rumored to come in multiple colors
 3. 3) Fantastic at blocking off VIP/Valet parking
 4. 4) Cannot completely break

The Pros are there, Ference while he did score 6 goals in one season, how many spots have traffic cones saved for people looking to get crunk at the club at 1 AM? Yeah this isn't a contest

Advantage: Traffic Cone

Cons

Andrew Ference
 1. See Pros

Traffic Cone
 1. Gets in the way sometimes but is a useful parking tool and or megaphone while drunk. Infact if used the right way it can also be used as a funnel for drinking games...lots of things to do here!

Advantage: The cone

While I do respect Ference's achievements (Cup Champ) its time to trade him in. At 34 he's been showing every bit his age this year, its not going to get better next year either. I would trade him for anything...a year old HoHo, a used bag of pucks, or even a Traffic Cone!

16) Playing the Role of Moderator: You're not a moderator so don't correct posters as if you were a moderator. If a thread or post violates the rules, use the "Report This Post" button rather than playing the parent. Editorial comments on the value of a thread or post, such as "useless thread", "in before the lock", "this thread should be closed", etc., are not welcome. This also may be considered spam, as it adds nothing to the discussion, and furthermore as thread hijacking and taking the thread off topic. If you don't like a thread and it doesn't break any rules don't reply to it! More often than not, that causes more problems than it fixes. Let us handle what is ours to handle. If you're interested in becoming a moderator you can send your application to moderators@hfboards.com.
Here endeth the lesson.
